hello group. new member here. Looking at this 2017 and wanted to get opinions on price etc.

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/738645659/overview/

Platinum, $45k. 29k miles.

I will be using it to tow, and window sticker says it has 'tow package', which I assume is a bigger trans cooler. What it doesn't say is if it has the load leveling rear. Dealer doesn't know for sure or isn't willing to check.

It has all the other options that i'm looking for, though. I'm in vegas so want to be sure on it before flying down there.

Thoughts? Appreciate any input. Thanks!

Platinums don’t have load leveling shocks because they have 22” wheels. They have CCD suspension.

FWIW: if I paid 51,900(buy price) for my lmted, and the Pltnm was only 4K more than my truck, it SEEMS like you might be better off with a new one....depending on how you equate mileage to $$

Is 30K miles & a new factory warranty worth 10 grand?

Just my take on it.....it's all up to you...either way, you'll be getting a good truck!

Don't hold me too this but I thought the load leveling suspension had to installed at the plant. Therefore if it does not say load leveling than it does not have it. Last year they were selling off the 17s for sweet prices because of the 18 redesign, I would haggle on the price. 18s you gotta pay extra for the tow package, was pretty much standard on the upper grade 17s. That seems like about $4000 too high for a regular.

Yes therefor making it an option if you ordered one or you had to find one with it factory installed. You couldn't get them on Platinums, only limiteds or XLTs

I agree with the assessments above. Price is high for that truck. Like Jeff I got my brand new Limited EL loaded to the max for $50k brand new. $45 for a truck with 30k on it not a good deal. Id offer $40 or look somewhere else. Like I said if you really want the LLS suspension then don't look at Platinums

last fall was the time to buy. I really don't give a hoot about lighter and 10 speed, I got a big rig for $20k less. The same used vehicle with no warranty was about $6000 less...No thanks

Load leveling does not help towing and complicates setting up a weight distribution hitch. Does not increase carrying capacity either.

HD Tow package was installed on all higher trim packages as standard. 9200 pound max towing capacity.

Not bad for a 2017. I paid $46k for my 2017 Limited Expedition with only 6,000 miles. It was a demo and was kept brand new.

It helps towing a boat maybe, but if you have a wdh, you have to hitch it up without the bars first and drive it around the block before then adding the bars. So in that respect it does prolong the hitch up process for a travel trailer. If your wdh is setup correctly, you won't need additional load capacity. Now that being said, you can add the load leveling nivomat shocks if you get an expy without them, i believe it's around 500 to buy the parts, assemble the unit and install.
