What did the quote you for HP and Trq totals?
I say send down the 1/4! The math of ET/weight never lies!

Based on their published graphs yet not knowing what correction factor they used I'd estimate around 510-520 crank HP if using a tradition 20% driveline loss. At minimum around 500 if using a low 15%. Respectable numbers for sure! But for.how.long is the question!

My daughter expectations are:

475 hp
530 trq

That graph shows trq much less. Especially if stock is 400 hp and 480 trq on Platinum..,

The torque curve goes out of the graph on the 93 and says 500.

One of the major things gained is they're clearly removing fueling/ rpm limiter to make peak power.

From tuning a gas motor.... 130hp/120tq on a dyno is a MASSIVE gain!

Ahhh factory forced induction x 2 is a great reason to proudly say you get a "********" everytime you crush the skinny pedal.

FYI
Generation 1 3.5L ecoboost would produce over 400hp at the crank with only 12psi with the stock factory calibration & 87 low octane "CRAP" fuel
Saw that on the dyno's at ford
Although I can't verify I suspect that is wheel torque not crankshaft torque in the chart from 5 star
Probably obtained on a chassis dyno
So divide those figures by .80 to .85
Never have had any trouble with longevity on any of my 4 previous 3.5L ecoboost vehicles
All were recalibrated with Livernois 93 octane software
2011 F150 driven over 100k miles & no issues at all but with 93 octane calibration from day 1 & always premium fuel

What hardware do you need? I have an SCT X4 from my old 2006 6.0, can 5 Star load "calibrations" to it? :)

I was told all of my older units would not work since they are not capable of loading the new software due to size of the files
Used the N Gauge from 5 Star
Each of the 4 files is 8mb in size
They are
93 octane performance/tow
91 Octane performance/tow
87 octane performance/tow
Stock file

Mike, couple questions about your 5* Tuner. Read on their website that a trickle-charger needs to be hooked up to the car battery; did you do that?

Also, since we don't have an ignition key, will the ignition remain active long enough for the downloads if we just press the button, and not actually start the car?

You mean you don't want to crater your ECM?....

Yes I used a trickle charger to download my original stock files for both the engine & trans
Takes about 20 minutwa
Yes you just push the start button without stepping on the brake pedal
Ignition will stay on until you shut it off
After file download or calibration upload is completed you turn off the ignition wait ten seconds then start the engine
That is per 5 Star's instructions & also Livernois on my previous 4 vehicles
works fine
No Worries

Now the better question is can they tune out the cats?

2 turbos + a big vehicle - cats = the perfect family vehicle!

Pulling the cats should net close to 600hp most likely.

Sure, if you like rebuilding your engine every so often lol.

"Built not bought" as they say right lol, jk...:banghead::banana-mario:

I think the engine will prove to hold better than the 10R80 will.

Last major repair I did on my daily was head gasket in May since it said no more at 70psi... only took 15hrs to do.

Of course the only logical thing to do was put in larger injectors and turn the boost up to around 85psi.

In all seriousness though, I would be interested to see a stright piped new expedition. I don't like driving anything "normal" and neither does she.

Good morning all
Doubt that I will take the EXPY to a drag strip
May be able to get an accurate 0-60mph time in the near future if N-Gauge has that feature
Not the least worried about the transmission or engine life
Shifts much better than stock & engine has gobs more torque
Programming for Engine & Trans matched perfectly now
Programming now the way FORD should have done it to start with
EXPY is my fifth ECO Boost vehicle
Never had any serious issues with any of them starting with my 2011 F150
As long as Ford offers this dual turbo engine family with the potential they have, I will buy Ford
2020 Explorer supposed to have longitudinal engine (instead of transverse) over 400 hp in the ST model with 10 spd trans
Planning to trade our SHO for one of them when they become available

Maybe one day get an F250 Diesel so I can reprogram it for 1500 lb ft of torque as well
Pretty sure you can do that without any new hardware, just reprogramming PCM as well
That would be a great hauler also

Do not wan to eliminate the cats
Today's "HIGH" flow cats no longer a restriction
O2's will not function correctly without the FLO cats
Maybe 3" pipes with larger higher flow cats if more than 600hp the goal

I respect your opinion, yet between a CAI intake (20hp) and catless downpipes (60hp+) you could have substantially greater gain if you so choose.

True high flow cats are not 50 state compliant, and all manufacturers have to cater to C.A.R.B..

Now talking on the F250!

I'm a slut for diesel performance and that's my profession and build and repair them in Houston

So.... don't just walk from the powerstroke, run from them. The Cummins has dominated the diesel market for the past 20+yrs, and continues to be the most reliable and capable with the ability to go 500k miles. I've torn cummins with blown headgaskets down with 200k on them and the cylinders still have the crosshatches from machining. Perfect compression at 250kmiles isnt unusual on the I6 cummins. Heck the Cummins in the Nissan would be a more reliable diesel than the 6.7l scorpion. I saw in person a 2019 Roush F250 stickered at 93k and flat out died laughing at all those expensive stickers on the truck. Let' not forget the 6.4l powerstroke which was appropriately named the flame thrower since it was notorious for catching farmers fields on fire during a regen.

Is it absolutely necessary to revert back to factory before taking it back to the dealer for service, etc?

Depends on whether the dealer is mod friendly or not.

Just don' expect a powertrain warranty to be approved as once that tune is flashed it logs it in the ecm and you will without a doubt get flagged by the system.
