I tried to get the fogs to stay on with the high beams. I'm running (properly aimed) HID's all around. I thought it would be as easy as running a power line form the high beam wire to the power line on the fogs.

Nope!

The computer started doing weird thing with the high beams. Hard to describe. I disconnected everything and will try again if I can figure something out.

Any ideas out there?

Revert back to the original wiring, visit the forscan section here, buy a $30 obd 2 connector from Amazon, turn on bambi mode. It will work 100%

Are you kidding me? It's this easy? I spent a half a day on Saturday wiring this all up. Can you paste a link 2A Amazon OBD connector that you know works please?

What year expedition? From what I can tell there is no bambi mode from 07-14

While you wait on your adapter to arrive, you may want to go the the Forscan forum, register, d/load the software and get the extended license key. Also check for your 2012 options there maybe?

I'm able to use my laptop and connect to my phone's hotspot to get the nice spreadsheets found in the Forscan forum. Unfortunately I don't know what mods you can do to your 2012. A lot of it is going through the list of modifications, picking the ones you want to try & just trying them out.

The one you purchased is blue tooth. Those will cost more, and you can use a iPad or cell phones.

That's the one that's recommended from the programmers of forscan. Others work, some are buggy, some don't work. This is the best option.

As for Bambi mode I'm very confident it can not be enabled on your year. Everyone else posting has a 15+ from what I can tell.

I was unaware our fogs turned off with the high beams, learn some thing new every day. Curious why you want the fogs to stay on? I’d think you’d have to figure out how ford actually cuts the fogs out and remove that. Forscan has never really interested me, doesn’t seem very useful on our 3rd gens. I’m not a computer guru however, many more knowledgeable members here as far as that goes. The computers seem pretty locked up on these vehicles and unless you have access to ford computers you can’t tamper much.....which I’m sure ford did purposely, lots of people out there who don’t know what they are doing..... my 2 cents.

Even if you can't make the changes you want in forscan, the adapter will at least let you read fault codes and stuff.
