Does yours have engine auto shut off at stop? I've seen some solutions to mimic a person pushing the disable button. Just a guess.

I do like the ejector seat idea though.

Okay you've had so much interest in what that switch is you have to find out for all of us

Its EASY enough to lay backwards, upside down looking up, your body contorted like a pretzel perilously perched on one leg on the ground and the other with nothing supporting it … ankle sliding on the icy driveway … shoulders jammed between the seat and floor at an oblique angle … holding a flashlight in one hand and camera in the other with your arms all askew … neck bent like an S curve … the brake pedal cutting into your scalp … the small of your back pivoting on the door threshold hitting your sciatica trigger point --- to see if any wires are on the back of that switch. Just make sure you have an extraction team available to get you out and take you to Urgent Care for some Flexeril & Vicadin afterward.

Have your assistant post the pictures for us, please.

Sounds just like replacing a fuse.

If you just bought it. Take it back to the salesperson and have them show you what it's for. When they don't know they should pull a service mechanic to see what it is.

Its aftermarket. More than likely the dealer or the original owner took off auxiliary lighting or something like that.

No evidence of anything added on. I'll check the headlight/brights idea. I'm not going to pop the panels off; I don't have the time. If I can get my phone back there, I'll take some pics of the wiring.

I hooked it up to my trailer, thought maybe the switch was an override for the trailer lights. Nope. I did look behind the panel and took a pic. There are 2 red wires going to the switch. I followed them and they are tied in to a blue wire that disappears into a plastic panel. 20190216_130943.jpg

Whats your address? I'm comin' over to figure this out.

$10 says there's a guy somewhere on the intertubes laughing his butt off over the "Switch to nowhere" he installed knowing a group somewhere would go bonkers trying to figure it out.

56 posts over the switch to nothing! You guys are bored to tears! We need a new difficult posting, maybe about oil again. That caused a ruckus a couple months back.
