First, does anyone know of a reason why the 2015 Trail Ridge tow mirrors wouldn’t fit on a 2017? I was under the impression they were all the same body style for quite some time.
Second, is the wiring harness that goes to the mirrors universal? For instance , my 2017 XLT doesn’t have blinker, nor blind spot monitoring, if I bought the more advanced mirror that includes one or both features, is it simply plug and play?

Wiring SHOULD fit, probably, and can definitely be jury-rigged if not


BLIS probably won't work (I'm guessing it needs a sensor somewhere? And possible programming changes), everything else will

Do a search. They fit fine. I believe the plugs are the same, just missing wires. My 17 has BLIS, but the mirrors I bought didn't offer it at the time. I'm going to sell my mirrors and buy the ones with BLIS.

I lived in VA for 3 years and have a rental house near Roanoke. Here is the one I used and still have. You will have to go online to set it up to stop all the false readings you get with the new adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring systems.

I think there are only 3 that have the stealth tech. The stealth does limit the range a bit.

When I worked for Whistler 25 years ago, I was building a "Radar detector, detector, detector." You read right. It was a radar detector that would sense the police radar detector, detector and shut yours down so you wouldn't get caught in states like Connecticut and VA. Bad law. You're allowed by FCC regs to receive any signal broadcast across airwaves. All a radar detector is, is a radio. Laser? Ya, I want to keep getting hit by lasers on the highway all the time. Just not right... If he comes up behind you and you get bagged, so be it. Good for him. Sitting at the bottom of a hill hidden? Bogus. It has become nothing about public safety and all about revenue.

How much are you willing to spend? Escort makes a very nice remote system, but it's very expensive.

Google's free Waze app is helpful also, though it's level of usefulness depends on where you're traveling and what time of day it is. If no one is traveling those roads, there is no one to report speed traps.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to a radar detector that the "VIPER" system can't detect. VA state police use radar detector-detectors. They generally target commercial vehicles, though. This guy got away with it. Notice that the cops start looking for the "hidden device" almost immediately.

Forget who but someone mounted them to the rear frame rails. Looked pretty good.

Put good mud catching floor mats in the truck the day it came home. Right out of my '07. Had to buy new mud flaps though. Upgraded the headlights to HID (low) and LED (high) as well as LED backup lights. The rest are fine. Getting close to the time to check the catch can level.

Still discovering stuff about the truck that's different from my '07 like the headlights coming on automatically with the wipers. Lots of stuff is completely unnecessary such as the seat/pedal resets and the power 3d seat. I don't recall having it up more than a couple of times.
