German cars are taxed on there engine displacement. That's is why they all use small engines. Fuel is also very expensive in Europe(there biggest market). Ford also sells autos in Europe. Ford offered a EcoBoost 'rebate' here, to initially move them. Now that Ford, no longer makes cars, there C.A.F.E requirement is not a concern. SUVs with 4-bangers and 'full size' trucks with a V6, are not popular with American consumers. Ford marketed the turbo engine as ECOBOOST, fearing flashback to 1980s. Americans said "no, thank you" back then. Salesman, I met, admit people worry about, out of warranty repairs and lower resale. Mercedes used cars sell cheap, out of fears of expensive repairs. There is other technology besides turbo, Mazda just developed a variable compression engine.

Your logic is twisted. The people on here complaining about the lack of a V8 represent a minuscule portion of the population. The buying population. I can guarantee you that 95% of the people buying full size, family hauling, $60,000-80,000 SUVs that use it like 95% of the people that buy them, which is to haul the family around primarily and tow a boat or trailer occasionally a few times a year, don’t give a shit about whether it has a v6 or v8. They just don’t. Especially one that exceeds the competitors specs in every regard!! A platinum with tow package will out accelerate and out tow ANY competitor!!!! Even the mighty Escalade.
I just gave a client, who bought a brand new Escalade a few months ago, a ride in my expy. He was floored how nice it was. I kept going on about how much we loved the Ecoboost. He said let me see what she’s got. I boosted a bit and let her rip. He was floored!!! He just went and bought a loaded navigator and will be tuning it immediately.
I will attach some photos of the 18,000 sq ft 3 story garage he is building now for his hobby. It is un freaking real. The only cars I have seen so far here are an air bagged suburban, Ferrari 458, 32 coupe, a 55 nomad that is sick!!!! This place is crazy.

Hennessy just trashed their Ecoboost raptor for their new 5.0 V8 raptor. According to them the supercharged 5.0 velociraptor outperforms the previous Ecoboost unit in every way.

He is a client. He is a multi millionaire! He will NEVER race this Navi. People do it because they can!! Why not? He customizes in some form or fashion, very car he has because he is a car guy. That seat of the pants feel is fun no matter what you drive!! Whether it is a Honda Civic, a diesel truck, an suv, etc. why do people send Mclarens, Ferrari’s, lambos to tuners for more power? It’s a billion dollar industry.
4th gen Expeditions are not the king of the hill, regardless of being a V6. I think of them more along the lines of the middle child trying to get his parents attention as the little and big siblings get all the attention
Compared to what? In full size SUVs there is nothing that competes with the expy/Navi. Expy blows the doors off of GMs entry and mid tier offerings. The Navi is light years better than the Escalade. The x7 and gals just aren’t apples to apples. The x7 is nice but it absolutely does not have anywhere near the room the expy has. Merc is the same. I’m just curious what you think is the top dog full size 7 passenger SUV.
The V6 Ford transit van, holds more ppl and most importantly looks 100x better than the new expeditions
