For the past 6 or so months I have notice a musty smell after it rained in my SUV, I thought the smell was from the AC. Today during a rain storm my daughter noticed it a major flow of water coming down the rear door starting in the headliner. Took it to the dealership with the water still flowing, and they said it could be the sunroof. Anyone else with this issue?

I had a leak from the wire harnesses on the trunk door. I installed a rear camera for my main dash cam and routed cable through the existing wire harness case. Did not align it correctly and had a leak. After quick t-shooting and fixing it 30 seconds - everything became fine.
To check it, you don’t need to remove any trim panels, just pop up the glass and check the seal.

A lot of people complained of the same thing in the Ford Flex forums regarding their panoramic sunroof. It appeared to be (for the most part) a blocked drain hole that required clearing.

I ordered my 2017 Raptor and the sunroof was one of the few things I left off. They gave me crap about it, saying it will affect resale and they haven’t seen any problems with them.

Fast forward to now and our 2018 Expedition sunroof is rattling big time. First 10K miles quiet. Last 1,000 noisy. I’ve actually looked at the possibility of getting a Navigator without the roof. Would have to order one. The rattling puts me in a rage.

My experience is that all sunroofs leak. On my jeep commander I would have to clear out the drains a few time a year or else it would leak like that.

I've had a sunroof in the last 6 vehicles I've had - my current 2019 Expedition, 2009 Escalade, 2008 Escape, 2008 Malibu, 2005 Cadillac STS, and a 2000 Grand Am.
Not a single one of them has ever had an issue or a leak.
I enjoy sun roofs and I LOVE my panoramic roof on the Expedition

Maybe you garage all of them. That seems to keep the drains cleaner.
A high % of them leak eventually. Some people don't keep cars very long so less likelihood of them leaking.

I WANTED a 302A with no roof, but it had to have a roof. I almost didn't buy it because of the stupid roof. I hate it, and think its nothing but a future problem. Its been fine so far in the 2000 miles I've owned mine. lol.

The garage is what makes the difference IMHO.

Exactly...this is main reason why I ordered a 2017 King Ranch -- did not want a sunroof. Had plenty of issues with my 2004 Expedition.
