That 'video' was about as real as Dirty Harry. It probably had $4K in work done, to equal an 1/8 mile speed of 90mph. I will run my 2011 Mustang Gt against any 'new', stock Expedition. You guys are dreamers. I drove a V6 Expedition, its peppy maybe, not race fast. Not even close. Drive a 5.0l Mustang and report back.
OK!

Let's find a drag strip, I'll let you inspect mine to your liking I can show you what fake turbos and fake computer gizmos can do.

I don't consider down tubes an intercooler and a cold air kit with a tuner heavily modified. It may be more than most but nothing you can't duplicate. My expedition isn't for racing, I just enjoy having a bit more than the average.
Now about that 2011 mustang, perhaps you like to try your luck against my 79 Corvette

In that case I’ve got a buddy who you should race in your 11’ stang. He’s got a 74 bronco. Here’s the engine. 7C80730C-29C7-4E03-91FD-784A41851FD1.png

LOL, that 5.0 will eat your expy up and spit it out. The 2018+ 5.0 is no joke and it’s in a little car, 4.0 sec 0-60 bone stock. With an E-85 tune you won’t even be able to keep up enough to see the tail lights.

Hmmmm considering it’s making more than 200hp over stock to the crank? Interesting. What would you consider heavily modified then? Bc I bet it would give that Hennessy navigator a run for its money.

364ho and 423tw to wheels on stock tune 93 oct fuel. And now it’s at 562hp and 598tq tonrhe wheels. Thts 198 hp and 175tq. I’d say that’s heavily modified

All new intercooler and piping
All new CAI
All new HPFP
All new E50 tune
All new catted downpipes

How many mods does it take to be considered heavily modified?

According to Ford: The 3.5l ecoboost in the Expedition and F150(except the raptor), is designed for lower end torque, for towing(up to 13,200 lbs). Its top end power levels out at high rpm. The cam shafts and computer, work together to do this. The Mustang 5.0l has performance cam shafts, performance dual exhaust, launch control, positraction, performance tune and CAI intake. It has 11:1 compression(the 5.0l F150 is 10.5:1). The Expedition has none of these. The car is almost 2,000 lbs lighter and 420hp, stock.

absolutely not heavily modified. 4 bolt on parts and a tune is FAR from heavily.

So we will say unless you add more than 17 aftermarket parts equaling 450 extra hp and tq over stock than you ain’t heavily modified

Chill dude. It's ok to be wrong once in a while.

To me, heavily modified is getting into engine internals, cams, heads, stronger rods, blah blah blah. Not bolt on parts.

I haven’t seen any mention of it, but would an oil and/or transmission cooler be necessary at these power levels?

In my opinion, Heavily modded is internal work and a lot more than exhaust parts, intercooler, intake and tune.

Want to go fast? Why mod an Expedition when you can get a scooter for less than your mods?

How is it ********? You are overcoming a 1.5 liter 2000 pound deficit. See if the mustang could overcome that same deficit.

Answer the obvious questions: How is expedition, with an open 'limited slip' hook 500+hp on street tires? It has no launch control, so how is it 'on boost' at the line? Ford states, the cams are low end torque, for towing not high RPM racing(the opposite). If true, those are not stock cams. To over come a 2000lb weight diff, would require and additional 300-400hp. That is the stock 375hp + plus another 300+Hp in mods or nitrous. A 700hp 6 cyl is laughable, when you consider the Hellcat is in that range. It probably has $25,000 in mods.

You can boost launch by holding the brakes on the line and revving to 2700rpm. do it all the time

As far as overcoming what? The stock GT would clearly have won the 1/4 mile.
1/4 mile is the true test. Racers use a bump box and trans brake, that basically lets them floor it at the line, but holds rpm at 3000. The Mustang has a similar feature. The button is released and you are instantly at full throttle. The turbo race cars also use a CO2 bottle to eliminate lag and be at max boost on the line.
