i always set my default to perimeter only, but it ALWAYS reverts back to include the inside alarm. I even have the setting changed in the dash menu.

Am I doing something wrong?

I didn't know there were such settings, maybe just in the higher trim model. I don't seem to have those options on my xlt that I have seen.

Idk about the expy but the Navi has an option that allows you to choose every time you turn it off. I do that instead of setting a default as sometimes I only want the perimeter armed.

I didn't find anything in the manual about the alarm modes. Can I assume full alarm includes noise sensors inside the vehicle ( breaking glass for example) and perimeter is just the doors and hood?

So if I lock the vehicle with my dogs inside I only want to use perimeter?

I think the inside monitors are to prevent absent minded people from unintentionally locking their infants or pets in the vehicle. Intentionally changing the setting to "perimeter only" would require knowledge that there was a person or pet in the vehicle. This may or may not be a good idea depending on where your vehicle is parked, what's inside, and for how long. Some states have new laws on the books allowing bystanders and/or law enforcement to break into your vehicle if they feel there is a danger to the occupant, so you take a risk doing so.

You are correct, altho I don’t think there’s a glass break sensor, just interior motion. And yes, kids and dogs absolutely set it off.

Thanks for the clarification. Don't worry, my dogs are only in the car if it's cool enough and well ventilated. I've been traveling with and trialing dogs long enough to know how to do it and when to avoid it.

Speaking of alarms, mine went off every 3 minutes last night. I ended-up disconnecting the battery for the night, replacing the batteries in the key fobs, and disabling the interior motion sensors. So far so good.

Does anyone think it's possible a firefly inside the cabin could trigger the motion sensor? Have had mine go off randomly a few times in recent weeks in the evening - first time there was no break-in or other apparent triggers but last night it triggered 2x and I saw a firefly inside - removed the firefly and no more alarms after that. Seems pretty sensitive, if that's actually what caused the alarm. Ironically, the night before I left the sunroof open by accident (outside, thankfully no rain!) and nothing triggered an alarm that night.

Absolutely. I've had a fly trigger the alarm.
