Can't help with suggestions but I can answer your question....yes, they are plenty bright enough if you buy the correct ones....a lot of junk out there.

good luck,

Go to The Retrofit Source (theretrofitsource.com) since they sell the Morimoto LEDs that are a direct fit for our housings. The have a good Q&A, and their forum is hidplanet.com for lots more info.

Same here for 13 but I am looking to replace the entire assembly due to crazing and I would like to add the DRL halo at the same time.

Not for an Expedition, but I went from stock to HID for a Charger. I struggled with misfires and poor reliability with HID so I thought I'd try LED. I am impressed. They fire immediately and I haven't had a single problem in a year since they have been installed. I went with some off Amazon not expecting much, but they have exceeded my expectations.

I upgraded the headlights and fog lights in my wife's '13 Expy almost 2 years ago. I purchased from a local LED supplier in AK. The brand that I'm running is Race Sport. I've very happy (so is she) with them. Extremely bright, real easy to install and we've had zero issues since purchased/installed in January of 2017. The headlight LED lamps have built in fans so you hear a little hum when the headlights are on. The fog lamp LED replacements have a thick aluminum braid for heat dissipation. I'd definitely purchase this brand again. I need a set for my '97 Ford F-250, I'll probably grab a set before winter sets in.

I am very happy with my current LED bulbs. I have purchased multiple different variations for multiple cars in the
last 4-5 years and the technology has greatly improved.
The ones that I have now on the Expedition are from amazon and are made by Nineo, I purchased them in 2017

NINEO H13 9008 LED Headlight Bulbs - CREE Chips - 12000Lm 6500K Extremely Bright All-in-One Conversion Kit,360 Degree Adjustable Beam Angle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JCS24SX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_HdoIDb1CAVYTS

The emitted light is Very crisp and not too blue. Light pattern is very focused for an aftermarket bulb. Great position for the high beam diode, so it's a true low/high beam bulb.
As I recall I had to adjust the position of the bulb stem to have a good pattern without too much glare that blinds the upcoming traffic, but that is explained in the manual that the bulbs come with. Easy install overall.
