Has anyone replaced the factory horn?

It sounds like both are working. I had an old F350 that got your attention more

The 2018's are so loud it almost you need to wipe when it double honks. lol
No kidding! If I were older I’m not sure if that first double honk I experienced would have caused a fatal heart attack or fatal bowel evac.... possibly both.

Not sure if it's easy to swap on these but several years ago on a gm vehicle I swapped in a 4 tone horns from a Buick Park Avenue and it's a very loud, almost train like sound. They are pitched in A, C, D, F and really get the attention of someone doing something stupid. Best part, cost virtually nothing at a JY. The notes are printed on the bell of each horn.

Basic wiring to get it going as a secondary horn if youd rather have the option of what to use Relay, momentary switch, etc. The horn grounds by its mounting tab, just have to secure to some bare metal.

I have a Grover air horn hooked up on mine with a little 2 litre size air tank. If the stock horn doesn't wake 'em up, there's a button on my dash. Sounds like a cement truck coming.

The different Expedition trims have different horns. The loaner XLT I had definitely had a weaker higher pitched horn. My Platinum has a much louder and fuller horn sound. Maybe the horns can be swapped if yours has the weaker horn?

Won't work. There's not enough room anywhere on the truck to mount that tank and compressor. That's why I had to use a little bitty tank and air it up with my garage compressor. And I had to mount it up on the firewall because that's the only place it would fit. The horns are behind the grille pointed straight down. They're chromed, but I painted them black so they wouldn't show.

Like a slow boat (barge) coming down the river.

But notice he's using hearing protection, and you can hear the echo coming back from his horn. It's seriously loud. Way louder than a train horn.

My Grover air horn has saved me a time or two. A big truck was backing out and was going to hit me. I tapped the air horn and he stopped instantly.

I had a Monroe Kodiak like the one from Transformers but it was silver. It had train horns on it. They are a riot to scare the crap out of someone until they get hurt or you cause an accident. I took them off because they are so dangerous and tempting. Knocked bikers right off their bikes. Cars into the sidewalk and drinks and phone’s thrown into the air. Crazy how some people will react when startled.

You can also go to the boneyard and find some 6V horns. I had a '50 Olds that I converted the electrical system to 12V. The only 6V parts I kept were the starter and the horns. The starter worked just fine with 12V and the horns were super loud. The Olds looked like a Chevy but had a V8. Won a lot of drag races.

My 2019 expedition horn is embarrassing. A vehicle on a truck frame that can tow 9500 lbs ford puts a horn on it from a 1972 pinto. It’s just a single horn. Any ford horn that would fit that would be a little more appropriate to the vehicle?

Is yours an XLT?
