when i bought my 2012 limited used, the code code that was in my manual book was not correct..apparently the first owner changed the code...so i went to the ford service department and they reset to the code back to factory and I was then able to change it to a code I picked...it only took a few minutes for them to retrieve

Here they charge $350 to retrieve a code. If you can't find it, you can buy a code reader for far less that will read it.

WOW, there are instructions for hit and miss deciphering on the FTE truck forum and in google. It averages about 10 minutes to find the code. (even a crook with some time could do it).

You're thinking of an engine diagnostic code, not a door code.

I would imagine it could be obtained on a 2011 with Forscan. I know it can be done with the 2015+.

No, they didn't charge me....but normally they would have charged $50...according to the Service rep
