Only an idiot 'launches' an Expedition or compares it to racing a Mustang. Another pathetic argument.

You do realize the OP asked about Launch Control right? That was the point of this thread. So that makes him and I both idiots then.

You said it had no limited slip or locker. I proved you wrong yet again. You said it can’t spin wheels on drive pavement stock, and it can.

Now you are calling me and the OP names. Only thing left in your standard playbook is to mention a V8, typically the Hemi. Just do it, so the thread feels complete.

Yes, sorry to say this, you both are idiots. You don't race a Expedition. Also an electric locker is not a posi.

Not sure why this has to be confrontational.

none of us who enjoy getting faster speeds has any delusion that we can beat a perf model mustang.

I find the respectful inputs both entertaining and informational.

thank you to those who participate in that spirit.

Hah, what a hilarious thread this turned into. Let me clarify. I’m not worried about beating mustangs or corvettes. I understand this is a family hauler. I do know it has enough power to break the tires loose, that’s not my goal. I’d rather have my tires last longer, 22’s aren’t cheap. I have a performance Mustang for that. I understand there’s not really a formal launch mode, again I don’t expect a lot of performance features here. What I was looking for is a more efficient way to control boost, air/fuel ratio, etc., from a launch standpoint.

I simply prefer efficiency and maximizing what I have. Therefore, if I want to see everything this Expedition has, stock, I want to know the best way to do it.

@rjdelp7 - I really don’t care much for an argument on your subjective views on a 4th gen that you don’t own, or comments irrelevant to the topic. Pitch in to the question or move on to another thread.

I try, I really do! This Troll comes up all the time. He has threatened me several times. Called me and others in this and the 3rd Gen Area names, but yet thinks I should be banned.

I answered the OP’s question. I have launched this thing many times. It is VERY fun to have this big thing hustle as quick as it does.

It’s much quicker than I expected, especially with 91 vs 87 octane. My need for speed is excited to see what a launch does.

I am here for your entertainment! Haha!!!

It will surprise you with what it is capable of.

22’s here too. Not going around doing burnouts either, but it is definitely capable of it, with the right set of buttons pushed, and the right technique.

This guy in the video is an idiot, right? But lokiwolf claims every week, he drives his Expedition like this. The original OP, wants to 'launch' his? Then I get lectured? You guys need serious help. By the way, I know more about the '4th gen', then half the actual owners on this forum.

I know this is a ford forum but I'm selling My stock 2006 GTO 6.0L 58Kmiles that I purchased new in 06. It will indulge your need for speed if anyone has room for it in their garage. 0-60's about 4.2 and 60-140 will make you smile or wet your ******* depending on your perspective. I never got to the 155 limiter :chicken:. It has launch control too, I never used it. Buy it and save your 22's for hauling the kids to LL or dance class.

Remember when you had no idea that the expy had a locker and that it was impossible to smoke tires? That was funny.

I never said I do burnouts, but have broken the Rears loose from a dead stop on dry pavement with Stock tuning without issue. Burnouts are capable.

Haha. Dude everything you posted about the 4th Gen in this thread alone was wrong.

You think a Posi is a locker, it isn’t. You thought the 4th Gen did not have a limited slip, it does, it even has an electronic lock mode. You thought it wouldn’t spin the wheels on dry pavement, it will.

Anything can be “launched”. We used to launch Mustang GT’s in the 90’s. Stock my 4th Gen is faster 0-60. Tuned on 93 it is faster than a 99 SVT Cobra.

Please keep proving how much you “know”. It is entertaining. [emoji23][emoji1787][emoji482][emoji897]

Thanks for the offer, but I have a 7 seat SUV that does this...

I never said that. I said 'I think' and nothing about 'smoking' the tires. The Expedition is not a high performance sports car. The so-called electric locker is for 4wd, not the drag strip. Ford equips the Mustang with special race features. The rental video is called a brake press/neutral drop . Flooring the gas while holding the brakes, than slam into drive. The Expedition could never do that, by just hitting the gas alone. It looked like a 2014 in video to me, that would be the V8.
