Finally got an update this afternoon. They said they “think” it’s leaking at the windshield gasket and they’ll replace the windshield and gasket on Tuesday when their specialist is in. I don’t have much confidence this will fix the issue. I have had various other issues already in the two weeks that I’ve owned it (front camera not working, tail lights full of debris, hands free liftgate not working, and the water inside the vehicle). I’m at the point where I’m wondering if I have a lemon on my hands.
I told my salesman I planned on picking it up this afternoon because I need to tow a trailer this weekend. Got a call from my salesman a few minutes later and he told me the rear interior panels are off and it’s best if I just leave it until Tuesday. This is after he told me they checked the liftgate sensors and didn’t find any issues (apparently they removed the panels to check the sensors?). When I asked why the panels hadn’t been reinstalled if there weren’t any issues he didn’t have an answer. I said I’m coming in tomorrow and it better be reassembled by then. I’m fed up with having to deal with these issues and just want to be able to enjoy my truck!
Over the years, I have been through two “lemon law” manufacturer repurchases in my state for defective new vehicles that I bought.
If I were you, I would research the law in your state to see if you quality - or when you would qualify. I would not say anything to the dealer.
Many states base the definition of a lemon on the number of defects repaired, or the length of time out-of-service for repairs, or more than one attempt to repair a safety system (such as the brakes). Each state is different.
Good luck.
No excuse for that many defects in ANY new vehicle today - especially an expensive, high-end model.
PS - Their “specialist” is probably a mobile glass company person.
