We logged 400 miles on this Navigator since it's surgery.
Lets just say its got $hit tons more power than it ever had before and the trans is happier with the torque. It used to downshift on hills and stupid things, now it just grunts its way up in high gear. In the rain its pretty entertaining, its engaging the traction control until over 50 mph! lol. My expedition has NOTHING on this 3.5L ** now that it runs right!
The exhaust quieted down since it runs right, so the drone on the highway is manageable now. It drones too much, but its tolerable.

Anyway, I'm glad its running well...... It has a slight exhaust leak they can fix at the next oil change, but I fully expected some kind of leak after this major surgery.
I’m glad to hear your finally getting the proper performance and driving characteristics out of this vehicle. Hopefully all this drama happened early enough that the pain of that experience will wane with time.

That’s great! Enjoy your Navi while you can. Hopefully one day you’ll be able to gain some faith in it and it becomes one of your favorite rides.

I just got mine back from 1st set of cam phasers. I still have what I suspect is a waste gate rattle. For anyone who also has had this, does it cause a loss of boost? I feel like mine isn’t as peppy in it he lower rpms as before. I did just spend a week in a nautilus and I wanted to make sure I used all the gas I had to put in it before they came to take it back. I was impressed with the 2.7 turbo, it was my first time with one and I had my doubts for it in the Bronco but not anymore.

Honestly I don't think it will cause boost issues, as the pressure will keep the wastegate open most of the time. The only time the rattle should occur is when the pressure is essentially non-existent. There is basically a spring setup that is supposed to keep the gate closed when nominal pressure exists, but it's a funky actuator assembly with an actuator arm, that seems to be the real design flaw. They actually tried to replace the actuator and arm on mine before the whole turbos, didn't help. Annoying as crap, my old turbos 20yrs or more had better mechanical or electronic wastegates that worked so much better. Way to over complicate the entire assembly Ford!

Anyway, I'm going on about 6k miles on the new turbos, still no rattles.

Yes. I am about 2 weeks post-cam phaser replacement and I have noticed a lack of pep in the lower gears. I also notice a more significant kick when the turbos kick in. Previously the turbos were pretty seamless, now the truck seems to labor a bit then jump out when the boost comes on...basically more turbo lag.

I figured the "learning transmission" got reset when they did the cam phaser job and it will just take some time for it to remap itself to my driving style. Fingers crossed.

You’re describing my experience exactly!
