Two quwestions:

1) My rearview mirror keeps shaking when I drive. It is making me nuts!!! How do I tighten up the rearview mirrior on my 2010 Expedition? I couldn't find a hex screw like on all other mirrors.

2) I need to re-paint the two tannish colored pieces located on the top side of the gear shifter. These are the two trim pieces that attach to the top of the gear shifter.

Only an expert can answer these!!!

No expert here, but the first should be taken care of by the warranty if you're within miles. If not, then it's the swivel for the mirror that is broken or too loose. No adjustment, just replacement AFAIK.
For the second problem you have to remove the pieces, sand, prime with the proper plastic adhesion primer, then topcoat it with the matching interior paint. However, if the scratch isn't due to your doing and it's a defective piece, try getting it covered under warranty. I know BMW has had a lot of issues in the past few years with peeling paint on plastic pieces and it gets covered under warranty.

side note:

try calling a dealer for a replacement cover. i bet its around 30.00 bucks for the top and bottom together. just make sure to have your vin number handy for them. could cost less then the parts and your time needed to paint the old one:?

Sorry, can't help you figure out how to remove them as I have a 2006. You might have to remove the entire center console, or the bucket from the bin to see how everything is attached. Possibly the gear knob has to be removed to slide the pieces over it? If you can take a few pics and post them and we might be ale to determine how it's put together.
As reference, the 2006 has a front bin/tray that has 2 bolts holding it in under the rubber mat. The top part of the console just pulls straight off by popping the clips out. And the bucket can be removed after removing the console lid. I'm sure the 2010 utilizes similar technology for the console trim pieces, just not sure which.
