So, using the touchscreen if I set the rear to anything above 83 degrees, it sets it to a max of 83 degrees. If you use the dial from the rear seat, it will stay above 83. See the video link.

Ford has said all of the Expeditions do this so there’s nothing to fix, that if I want it to be set above 83 degrees, I can have the rear passenger set it. Because my 5 year old can reach the knob right. I also had the Ford corporate service agent actually ask me why it mattered why would I even want to set it above 83.

Why would you want it above 83? Wouldn't it get too hot? And setting the temp at 85 isn't going to make it warm up any quicker than at 83 or lower. Serious question, not trying to be a pain.

I don't think it is that, it is the fact that it isn't operating the way that it should. If you turn the temp up all the way is should go to what it call HI and it isn't doing that.
If I turn the temps up all the way in mine it will say high and pump out hot air. I personally never turn it up that high, I am generally quite good with it set to 65-68ish but my wife and kids regularly turn the temps up to the "HI" setting.

I guess I just don't see what the issue is if you would never use the setting anyway...JMHO

I can see from the video that the controls have different effects and I assume it's just how software is designed and not a malfunction. On the other hand, I hate to be sexist, but women definitely don't understand that cranking up the temperature doesn't make it get warmer any faster.

Does this have anything to do with priority/override? ie., it's defaulting/going back to the rear setting's preference, unless you override/lock the rear passenger from being in control

So, my car does this exact same thing when I first start it up. I will set it to any number. 75, 80, 83.. and it will always auto default to two degrees below that. It seems like after it lowers down, I can arrow up two degrees to get it to where I want it. I don't understand the why behind why it's doing that, but it does it every time pretty much. I also have the sync 4a. After that initial time that it sets down, are you able to manually arrow up two degrees? I've never tried it all the way to Hi, just noticed at lower temps.
