Got a 22' Timberline and noticed that one of these humps are shorter than the rest. Just wondering if it's the same for all of you. I don't see any wiring or anything installed under that area, so not sure if this is by design or a mistake.

There has been one or more other posts regarding this observation on this forum - you may want to do a search.

If I recall correctly, the roof trough design was changed sometime during the 4th generation model manufacture.

I have a 22 Timberline Q2 manufacture without that short hump. Maybe they changed the design to accommodate something in 23. Do you know the build date? Or its for some option you have or dont have.

If the roof gap between it and the spoiler is uneven, read this: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10232437-0001.pdf

yup, get that rear spoiler checked. Good thing you don't look at your roof often, that would drive me crazy. To me if you have to shorten that for something on the interior, at least make it the same on both sides. Shorten the outer crimp on the other side too.

Ouch. Thanks for the call out on the roof spoiler. I've read all the warning on this forum for the 22' but the stupid side of my brain kicked in and bought it anyway.

My build date is 11/2022.

I think that hump is probably the designer's attempt at an artistic statement.

Have we figured out if this change in the roof is date related, factory related or model related specifically?

I have 2023 Timberline, built 12/22 and I do have the short rib on the passenger side of the roof as well. No idea why it’s like that. Maybe the die for the roof stamping got damaged and this is what they ended doing for the repair.

Another Ford engineer or group of same that could be given pink slips with nothing but positive results. There was nothing was wrong with Gen 3 rear hatch design / actuation in any kind of weather.

That short rib is bizarre…the only reason I can think of is an unseen design change which required it.

Its a manufacturing defect. I feel like someone failed to inspect (quality issue) that roof before the robots installed it.

Is it only on the sunroof/moonroof cars????? maybe different stamping because of interior structural differences.

That is strange it is shorter than the others. I have a 22' Timberline and mine are all the equal longer length. My build date was 5/22 and bought 7/22. I will be curious to see what you find out.
