I'd say they did not find this problem on their own, if they did, those engines would not have been installed in the first place. There MUST have been a number of vehicle engine failures. They then retraced the manufacturing process to determine the time frame where the machining errors occurred. I wonder if they truly know the scope of the problem.At least they are voluntarily doing this instead of waiting for the engines to blow up.
