How much should I be paying for a full-synthetic oil and filter change in Philadelphia?

just did it last weekend, paid 119 for full synthetic oil and filter change. northern Virginia

That's about what the stealerships & the quickie-change places (which I have never used or trusted) around here charge too, but most smaller shops usually charge around $70-80, and the one shop I go to does it for $50 because I provide the oil & filter....
however, one place I called quoted me $169.... nope, not doing that !

Yes, I did it in a local ford dealership. Just want to leave a record in OASIS every 10k in case there is any engine warranty claim or any other sort of claim in future. I do one additional oil change myself in between to make sure the oil is replaced every 5k.
Well, on my worksheet, it states the oil used is XO-5W30-BSP. Looks like you are right. This time the dealership did use semi synthetic oil. Although it doesn't matter for the engine, but it really annoys me for the possible upcharge. Then I checked my previous service record in the same dealership, it states "customer required semi syntenic oil change", which is a false statement, but the part number is XO-5W30-Q1FS, for full synthetic. Next time I will just ask for synthetic blend, with lower price, and they can't get it wrong anyway.

Auto Nation Ford here in Tampa Bay is doing FULL Synthetic oil changes with filter for $69.95.
Are you sure that's REAL oil, or that stuff that's made from recycled cigar cuttings ?

I believe you. I have been using only full synthetic in everything (cars, motorcycles and boats) for several decades. My Ford dealer started by quoting me on a blend. I asked if it was full synthetic and told him thats what i wanted. That was $118. I think the blend was somewhere around $30 less if i recall correctly
I did my first oil change at Auto Nation Ford in Brandenton, FL, and I had a positive experience with them. I requested full synthetic and they delivered full synthetic.

My full synthetic and quick lookover was $139....I was told they would charge extra for brake insp also. (they dont look at breaks during there oil change and inspection) Getting ridiculous

I have a 2016. Bought used from Carmax while it was still under warranty. I had a warranty repair done at my local dealer. I also registered the vehicle on Ford’s website. Ever since then I regularly get mail from Ford some of which have a coupon for their full service oil change which includes tire rotation and visual safety inspection and yes they check the brakes while they’re doing the rotation. Only $50. Of course the main reason they offer this is to look for additional work. Here’s where you use caution. Every time my car is there, no matter for what reason (I have an extended warranty so it ends up there if I think it will be covered), they come up with a long list of suggested services sometimes adding up to over $2000. They always say that the air and cabin filters should be replaced. 2016 XLTs do not have cabin filters. And I change the air filter regularly. So, see if you can get onto their mailing list and save some money on oil changes but don’t waste your money on their BS services. They push BG flushes. Along with the filters they’re an easy money maker for them. I thought it was just this one Ford dealer but the Toyota and Hyundai dealerships pulls the same exact trick.
To me, the real question is, why I requested and paid for full synthetic oil, but got synthetic blend in the engine? Almost all dealerships are stealerships. This is a fact accross the country.
Yep, the local Chevy, Ford & GMC dealerships all do those mail campaigns too, most of them I just throw in the trash unless they offer something alot cheaper than usual...
I remember one from a few years ago that offered the oil change/rotation/courtesy inspection for $49.99. My wife's GMC was due for an oil change, so I took them up on it...
They said it also needed front brake rotors & pads, an alignment, all filters, coolant flush & fill ect....that's when I pulled out all my service records from the past 6 months, which showed all of the above had recently been done. He started backpeddling and rumbling on about how the alignment & brakes were not done correctly & would soon be causing me major problems, and that the radiator cap had been replaced with the wrong type/size yada yada yada...
Needless to say that placed was moved to the top of my no-buy/shit list
