My 2022 has what looks to be cheap vinyl “chrome” on the bezel surrounding the center console, and its crinkled to the point I thought that maybe there was a protective layer that needed to be peeled off - thank goodness I didn’t! I can’t believe Ford settled for a Temu version of trim - and I haven't found a suitable solution short of recommendations to take it to the dealer to replace (no luck there, said it was normal wear and tear and out of warranty). Anybody else have this? And fix it? It’s driving my adhd batty!

Can you provide the part number when you get it back? Our 23 has the same issue.

Part number 9 here. There's about 10 variations based on vehicle interior colour, and drivetrain (rwd/4wd).

(Ignore the diagram beside the part number - it's wrong - you can google the long part numbers and find images confirming)

If I'm reading that correctly, number 9 is pretty much the whole console, not just the trim piece, is that correct (ie hundreds of dollars, if not up to $1300)? Is it possible to just replace the crinkled trim?

As far as I know, no. You could check a scrapyard, but even then, I'm not sure that bezel can be separated from the rest of the console non-destructively.

My plan for when it rips completely is to see if someone can wrap all the bezels with vinyl or something.

The bezel trim fir console can be replaced separately without the need for the entire console. I had it done under warranty on my 2019 a few years ago. Have no idea the part number though. FYI.

I have the same issue. (2023 Limited SPP) Looks like chrome "tape" bubbling off of the underlying plastic. It was that way when new, and has gotten a little worse with time.

I just came back from the dealer and they are ordering the parts under warranty.

SO CHEAPLY MADE

Ours is doing it too. The center console is made out of disappointingly cheap materials. A high touch area like that should have higher quality materials.

Just to update- the piece was replaced under factory warranty in my wife's truck. I'm guessing it won't be covered by Premium Care if it happens again.

Wish this thing wasn't all plastic welded together. Would be nice to just pull the part, clean it up and wrap it in something that isn't disgusting chrome.

Thanks for the heads up... I checked this out yesterday, while going through the car wash.
Ours is holding up OK so far.

But I agree, this is kind of silly for such a large and expensive vehicle, to have this crappy trim pieces that don't hold up.

Gentle reminder :) Also, what did they replace - just the chrome part(s), or the whole centre console fascia?
If you pull these things apart, you'll see that all the parts are plastic welded together. Likely they just replace the whole thing, which is usually very expensive. Sorta like the purple headlight problem. Got to replace the whole thing, which is $1200.

That's my suspicion as well, but I recall someone somewhere here said their service tech sourced just the chrome bezel parts. So whilst I'm dubious, I'm still holding out hope!
