dont they have air suspension unlike the ford? They look better ( especially the denali )
Interior quality has really stepped up.
If the Denali Ultimate and the Platinum were the same price it would be a really difficult choice

im not sold on the tailgate. IM going to have to lift my dogs up there so they dont break their legs. they are large labs too.

furthermore the standard yukon has a larger trunk then the regular expedition. If you get a bench id miss the individual tilt and slide also

Yes they have air suspension, as well as all of its competitors. However, only the gms and jeeps actually ride better. Toyota doesn't, and its too soon for the armada, but the qx80 i drove didn't feel better than any expy or nav I've driven.

Looks are pretty subjective so no argument here. Personally, I think the 25 denali look has downgraded and prefer the new tahoe look. Interior quality has gone up, but still not really good as fords, especially tahoe.

For 25, regular denalis are 90k+ without the options, and the denali ultimate is 110k. All these trucks are expensive, but Thats pretty egregious if you ask me. All that does is prevent cadilac from actually selling their base escalade trim.

Sorry about the dogs. The tailgate isn't going to be for everyone. For me, my dads jump into the back will be no different. He had to jump into our current nav now, and if he couldn't make it, I'd have to lift him. I don't have a ramp for him, so either way he'd have to jump.

Lastly, our expy had a bench and the outboard seats did tilt and slide, so I don't know why you mentioned that they didn't. I think Only the old xl trims bench not tilt, but xlt and up the bench outbard seats do. My wife and I both prefer the tilt and slide over the tumble in the gms.

To play on the title, I was liking it... And then I looked at the two tone rear hatch. It will be hard pass unless there is an option to color match the middle panel on the rear hatch.

good points, good to know you've driven them all. and yes 110k at that price I'm going maybe navigator or escalade. But on another note, if you go denali, and not navi or escalade you can slide under the radar more and not draw as much attention to yourself. Part of me loves those vehicles but dont want the extra attention. Dont want the wife to get that attention or be a target.

I must have misspoken when i said the expi doesnt have a 3 way tilt. I was saying that the ford does and the GM does not so thats a W for the Ford. Its finally good to see that GM has upped its game on the interior.

I know that Ford often has deals on the Expeditions. Does GM have the same kind of thing on theirs? thats gotta be the way to go when buying as well. A leftover last year model ect to save the extra $$ if you dont have an "a" plan

Also, ive yet to see the 25 expedition in person so im definitely looking forward to it

I feel the same, but we've had a few navs and my dad has an Escalade so I guess we're used to it. I have actually always adored thw nav and after owning a couple, it solidified my love for them. I try not to take then to certain places.

My bad for misunderstanding. Gm has def made some strides with their Interiors, and the new ones are no different. They are really nice and show well.

I can't wait to see the expy and navi in person as well as to drive them. Since they started building them, I would expect to see the first drives in the next few weeks.

No matter which vehicle is purchased, they all have concerns. It must be decided which set of issues one wants to deal with. Or better yet.....which might be the lesser of the evils.

Yes and no. It depends on which vehicle has minor or major concerns. A piece of loose molding is a small issue to most. Where the problem comes in is how the dealer or manufacturer address's them. Or not.
As I said in another post the new Explorer ST that we purchased in July has been problem free. Our loaded King Ranch was a pia always something. So much so that we sold it.

There's another side of that coin. Your post gave me a jumping off point, though don't take it as me arguing with you.

Ford made a major change to the Explorer platform starting with the 2020 model year. Different engine and transmission. Engine turned back to longitudinal rather than transverse. And, soon after production started, hundreds of newly-assembled Explorers were shipped from Chicago Assembly to vehicle storage lots in the Detroit area. Dealers that had taken delivery of 2020 Explorers were told not to sell them. I don't think the reasons ever came out, but the overriding issue seemed to be that this new-platform vehicle with a new drive train was not being assembled correctly. Ford eventually corrected the issues and started shipping Explorers to dealers who were able to sell them.

But, the problems didn't stop. There were two other "stop sale" orders issued to dealers for new Explorers during 2022 and 2023. And, there was the whole 1-bolt vs. 2-bolt issue with the rear differential installation. I was contemplating buying a new Explorer in 2023, so I was following them closely. Part of my reason for not buying one, and buying a competitor brand's vehicle, was the seemingly on-going quality issues with the Explorer.

Granted, things may be corrected now and maybe new Explorers are just fine. Given the importance of the Explorer to Ford's sales picture, I certainly hope so.

Ford has been building essentially the same Expedition since 2007 and at the same assembly plant since 2009. New engine in 2015. Different engine build, though same basic design, and different transmission in 2018. A few body and trim changes plus the change to aluminum bodies in 2018. Big leaps in electronics and the vehicle's electrical architecture between 2015 and 2022. You'd think by now that they'd have things worked out. By most reports, the 2024s are pretty good, though they are new so time will tell.

However, the 2025 is another change to the body, interior, and technology. Do we think Ford will get it right? Do I feel a little squeamish about that? Given Ford's track record, I don't think I'd buy a 2025.

I wanted to like it, but then I saw the interior dash. Round dash big enough to set a dining tray on, no truck feel at all. More like a minivan.

So disappointed, as I was planning on pulling the trigger to replace my 2018.

Everything else about it I love, but man we cringed when we saw the front dash.

I don't think it's for me. Seems like it should be called Gen 4.5. Same drivetrain, 25 more HP, styling tweeks in front, new tailgate design. Big deal.

I added leather to my 2018 XLT, which isn't an option on the new Active. To get leather you have to add the $4000+ package which includes the stupid moonroof. No thanks. I only have 81K on mine, it's good till they actually come out with a true Gen 5.

Understandable. From my memory, every expedition that has been released as new except for 2015 was criticized by expy owners for something, mainly interior aesthetic and how similar to f150 it is or how bland and blocky it is. Then after people drive them, those critiques go away.

It's fine, Just not as much of an upgrade over my 2018 to justify the cost, which would be in the neighborhood of $55K.

Looks like a dealer got one.
Michigan manufacturer's plate. Dealer is Fort Worth TX. Might have been filmed at the Ford offices in Michigan or at a media day. Dealer's website shows 5 on order, but no real photos of actual inventory. https://www.5starford.com/inventory.../models-Ford-Expedition_MAX/years-2025--2025/
