Power Locks Slow, then stop

Hi guys. Been reviewing these threads for a while now, but never found the issue I am seeing. I appreciate all the knowledge found in these forums. They make keeping up a 10+ year old vehicle worth the money.

My power locks (all doors) have been getting slower and weaker as time has gone on. Now if the unlock/lock button is cycled more than one or two times the locks stop working and just hum a little. Same result with key fobs as well...

I thought it could be a relay, but couldn't find one in the truck. I really would appreciate some advice before I replace all the actuators...

Model year is a 2000.

I'm having the same issue and mine is also a 2000. Mine actually lock pretty well but have trouble unlocking. They sound like they are trying to work but just don't quite got the job done.

Door locks

I have had the same problem with my 2000...sounds like it either lock or unlocked but nothing happens...I have replace the front drivers door...now the back is acting up...simple fix door panel has to come off, drill the rivit out and replace with short bolt and nylock nut...heres a link to where I have bought mine off e-bay....dont bother with a junk cuz thats what you will get...Junk...and the dealer will rape you...The one I replaced works great in fact you really have to watch as it moves so fast....

I've replaced acuators already on the front passenger and rear driver side. Now my front driver side is acting up..... I def. would not get one from the junkyard cuz the factory ones are proboably all ready to die. I'm gonna look at your link.

That's a rear one. But I'm sure there are lots of fronts on ebay too.

If you go to e-bay motors and then to parts and accessories....you can put you vehicle info on the right side and it will pull all categories for your truck..Hope this helps.. here is the link,

Lol. Hate to say it, but I have the exact same problem with my 2000 as well...

Wish I had a nickel for each one for every time they up and down since new.....I could by a new truck instead of just the locks...LOL

Thanks for the input guys. I actually found a link to another forum. Ford Truck Enthusiasts where they explain how to fix them. The example is on a Super Duty but the method is the same. I actually drilled out the plastic "welds" on the actuators and pulled them apart in the doors (after fighting with the drivers door for hours just to get it out). It was just as easy to do the fix with the linkage rod hooked up. Now they all work as good or better than new. Here's the link
