Foolish on my part, instead of going to store, used packing tape laying around to hold up window when I put new window regulator in. Tried goo be gone, wd 40 and scraped with old credit card. The top layer on tape will not allow penetration to get to glue. Really takes from appearance of my 2003 Expo! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If residue on glass...mineral spirits or acetone....
If it is the tape itself try to saturate with the mineral spirits and use low power of a heat gun or wife's hair dryer....try to peel while blowing heat over the tape.

WARNING: use acetone ONLY AS AN ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT, as it is one of the most powerful and quick acting solvents there is....one unnoticed drop in the wrong place and you will have bubbled paint, a hole in a piece of trim or melted plastic/rubber which will be unrepairable....

Plus the fact that you MUST be outside when using it, along with a respirator mask & gloves, as the vapors are extremely toxic and will very quickly burn your lungs if inhaled directly FOR EVEN A FEW SECONDS, resulting in a long, painful trip to the ER or possibly even the morgue !!!!!

NOTE: I MADE THIS WARNING BIG & BOLD BECAUSE I SAW A FRIEND'S HUSBAND KILL HIMSELF IN LESS THAN 15 MINS SIMPLY BE CAUSE HE IGNORED THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS....it was a gruesome, scary sight, to put it mildly

Try laying a rag over the tape (or tape residue), saturate with 90% isopropyl alcohol, let it sit for a minute or two, then scrape with a good plastic scraper. Worked for me!

I use single edge razor blades to clean glass.

I thank all who replied. An old guy in my neighborhood, not that I'm young! But he said son let the sun take care of it. He was right, a little at a time the film on tape is drying out and flacking

off! With a little help from me.
