Knowing all you've done to it and how it's been maintained, I'd buy it if I needed another one.I don't think there is any internal problem in the engine.
I had someone over unrelated to the car and he was very interested in it, wanting a price. I want it running before I haggle.
That is interesting because one of my FORScan runs indeed showed a VSS P0500 error. I will have to look for that on my next test. If I recall I did not even have the vehicle in motion when that error showed.. I have an ABS light on this last test. And usually that does not show until I have driven a mile or two.. hmmmm.Ok, you have said something that got my attention.. You drive it has good power for 15 mins? I seem to remember on mine, it would do that, but I would get a PO500, when it happens.. I’m beginning to think this is a PCM or Gem probably going bad IMO
Btw, the transmission shop still has my Expedition, and said they are seeing this, but are clueless.. This is a 4th generation shop.. They are definitely determined to find this problem.. Even though I changed out the PCM, and sent the GEM in for a check, I’m wanting to just change them out period now, unless they find something else..
It’s the only thing I know to do..
No stumbling, just low power and torque.. I would get the PO500 just by cranking it sometimes..That is interesting because one of my FORScan runs indeed showed a VSS P0500 error. I see you had a thread about the P0500 code. Did you ever get it sorted out? Do you have a driveability issue , stumbling above 1200 RPM, like mine?
My ABS module has had a "power failure" code intermittently for a long while. Seasonal in that it was temperature dependent. But I would have to drive a mile or two for it to illuminate. But never a drive ability problem. I just ignored it. I now have an ABS light on at same time with the major failure which is the stumbling. Last time (months ago) I had the FORScan connected the P0500 was showing. It is weird in that I think my speedometer was reading properly throughout my mostly successful test drive. I have been chasing manifold air leaks, throwing the parts cannon on hoses that probably should be replaced. But this is a new wrinkle. I am going to dive a bit deeper. No stumbling, just low power and torque.. I would get the PO500 just by cranking it sometimes..
It’s either 3 things, the ABS module, the Gem, or the PCM..I’m absolutely convinced..
The signal from the differential goes to the ABS module, then to the GEM, from there goes to the PCM, which the PCM compares the signal from the VSS on the transmission..
I’m pretty sure we both have the same problem..
