Got my Cladding Replaced Today

Print out the TSB on faded cladding available on this website.
Search under cladding. Print it out and take it to your dealer.
If your EXP is under warranty they will replace it free. My EXP now looks like new again. You can try using the mequires tech spray for vinyl it seems to work the best and smells great too. Not too expensive. Good luck with your dealer....Tasca has been pretty good to me on the East coast here.:rockband:

You're lucky, my dealership wouldn't do it. I'm just going to paint it anyway. I love how the new expys look that come painted from the factory.

Contact Ford

Never mind your dealership go right to Ford. Contact their rep and send them a picture of your EXP. I can see it in your avatar if that is your EXP you need cladding replaced. It is very faded and Ford should give you an OK. Contact your states Attorney Genrals office and show him the TSB. He will also back you. Let me know how you make out.

Yes, my body cladding is extremly faded, but unfortently I just rolled over 36k miles so I'm out of warranty. Too bad I didn't know what you said a month ago.

Hi,
Look you may be out of warranty but the fading didn't happen in the last 1000 miles. Take digital pictures email them to the factory reps. This is a service that would cost you $3000 to have done at your expense. It iis worth going after. If you get no satisfaction go to your attorney generals office and file a complaint. Don't worry about being out of warranty..your dealer gave you bad info while you were in warranty. Go get them, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I'll have to give it a shot. Did they make a new side panel that doesn't fade, or are they going to give me new ones that will fade just as fast?

About not being able to login anywhere except for the main page, it's been like that since this site started.

Wow automatically logged me in this time.
I asked the Service manager that same question and he didn't know. I think I saw on this forum that the new panels hold up better. My Exp looks like new again. 03 and has only 6.9K miles.
I don't use it much. I apply Mequiers tech protector on the cladding and it seems to help. Like Amorall but better. Like I said before go after them they need to make this right.

Ps I've only been to SD once in the mid 70's and it was very nice out there. Del Mar, Roy Rodgers beach, Torey Pines.
