O.K. I was thinking about a section for us owners that Expeditions that were former police or government vehicles...so please respond to the pole only if your Expedition was owned and used by police or government. We will classify them as Generation 1, 2 , 3 to present

My truck was owned by a TN county sherriffs department but it was an undercover unit. drug squad I would guess. It has extremely dark window tinting and still has the wires for the police radio equipment just not the radios.
The original poster should have asked how many people own an Expy with the Police package.

I have the original window sticker and it list all the equipment and options and it does not say anything about Police Package on the build sheet. It is a nicely equiped ride and it was well taken care of. I hope to have it for a long time.

Baker, My Digital Camera is missing, so the pictures will have to wait till I find it. I see on the original build sheet that it was delivered to a dealership in Michigan but I know often times that dealers swap unsold vehicles. I ran the Vin number on CarFax and I am the 2nd owner. I know from formerly working for a governmental entity in NC that they often times at the end of the year buy left over vehicles from dealerships at reduced prices and I know that the City I worked for often times bought for the police as many as 200 cars and SUV's for their detectives and Patrol divisions and other city departments. The 2 Ford dealers that usually won the bids kept Police Package vehicles in their inventory because they also often times won the bids for units from other law enforcement agencies. The city I worked for has over 800 sworn officers so they buy a lot of vehicles. The reason I know this is I did building maintenance at all the buildings and facilities and I was friends with many officers including the Chief. They sold all their old vehicles through the State Surplus Agency and sometimes people could buy a used vehicle dirt cheap.
