I tinted some off road lights I have bolted on to my back bumper. I used the Rustoleum tint spray that I also used on my tail lights.

The light output is so high on these little things (55w each) and I put the tint so heavy on there that it becomes very hot and starts to melt. I just did this this afternoon and 8 or 9 hours later this is happening.

Do you all think it will stop after it completely dries or am I better off just sanding that sh** off and putting a latex tint over it?

Why are you tinting the lights? Isn't the purpose of them to light up the area behind?

With the Rustoleum tint spray the light still shines through fine, when you actually have the lights on at night you can't even tell they are tinted. It is just for appearance purposes during the day.

I apologize for not inferring to you that I do have a sense of common knowledge.

Seems like you'd be better off just getting black/smoked light covers. That way you can take them off at night for maximum visibility. You start to appreciate it more and more the darker your tint gets. You're siggy says 5% coming soon. You might want to be able to see. Just saying. I have 2 layers of 5 all around...you'll want all the light you can get. I'm putting HID's in my reverse lights soon for this very reason.

Hey jack *****!!! the light still shines through fine like I said they are just so hot that it melts the tint so I'm gonna work some magic with paint thinner tomorrow and get that tint off and be good as new.

Heh, I always though paint thinner was bad on plastic... Unless the lights have glass covers?
