    the hood and hatch are aluminum, there is a vin number stamped in the frame, the police will know where to look to identify it.

    i just did my first replacement (pads and rotors) at 50k using ford pads, the pads were clearly marked inside and outside. had no trouble. drove it to indy and back with no problems.

    the problem with fords computer is it takes a long time of a misfire before it will throw a code. you need someone with a scanner that can monitor things.

    putting them in the steering wheel is the easy part. the dash wiring is different and the radio is different.

    the early years has the back up sensor up inside the bumper cover and the later years had 4 sensors on the outside face of the bumper cover. as far as i know

    scratch and sniff odd smell

    oil is leaking on to the exhaust when the vehicle is running and burning off that is what you smell. it will get worse eventually and then you will see it on the ground. it would be best if you can get it up on a lift if possiable.

    i just had the same problem and it was the brake light switch. sounds like a common problem.
