I have about 53k miles on our 2018 Platinum OE Hankook tires and will be looking to replace them soon-ish. I haven't been impressed with their performance, particularly in wet or slick conditions. In the past I've been pleased with Michelins (on other vehicles), so I'm primarily leaning towards...
Finished the oil change today. Made a pretty big mess on my garage floor, but went alright otherwise. I got the Valvomax plug installed, so should go much smoother in the future. Thanks for all the advice!
I have Futmoto valves in our other two vehicles and agree they great to have. I ordered a Valvomax for the Expy to try something different (and because they currently have a code for 20% off).
I got under the Expy to confirm that I have a metal oil pan before buying a Valvomax drain plug. Could someone please confirm that this is indeed the oil drain plug? Just want to he certain before I buy anything.
I'm planning on changing the oil in the Expy myself for the first time (done it on other vehicles plenty of times before). I'm planning on grabbing some Mobil 1 Advanced and a Motorcraft filter, as well as a Fumoto valve (or similar). I'm just curious if this vehicle has any quarks I should know...
Check out Onion Creek. We drove that two summers ago in our 18 Platinum with the 22" wheels without issues. Gorgeous scenery and you cross the creek (which is only like 2-3" deep) like 20 - 30 times (fun to count them as you go with the kids).
My 2018 Plati is at the dealership for some service and warranty work, the called me stating that the lug nuts are swollen and that I'd likely have trouble or be unable to remove them roadside in the event of a flat. I only have about 46,000 miles on it and I really don't think there's been any...
Overall I think the Expedition will be a great fit for your needs. We love ours (2018 Plati w/ HD Tow). I also have a fairly highly modified Rubicon. I haven't tried towing it yet, but have done a little research. Although the Expedition should he able to tow the weight no problem, it looks like...
I have a Jeep Wrangler as well as the Expy, they are also known to go through rear pads much more quickly than the fronts for some reason. Maybe they bias towards the rear on taller SUVs to help combat nose dive under heavy breaking? Or maybe in the case of the Expy it could be due to...
Nice setup! Any idea what your tongue weight is? I've been starting to think about a tow setup for my Jeep. Would probably be a similar weight, I'm worried that I'd be at pretty much max payload before adding any gear/passengers in the Expy.
Great information, thanks for sharing! Do you happen to know the specific parts used to make this happen? We have a 2018 Plati and have the same frustrations with the RES. Our kids are little, so I just have about 50 movies on an SD card and the systems just loops through those and they're...
