Engine stops after pressing the gas pedal

I had a '99 Suburban with the exact same problem. It was the brake booster. It would cause a big enough vacuum leak, when actuated, that the engine would die.

2005 Expy Air Suspension INOP during Freezing Temps

I have a 2005 4x4 Expy that I purchased used this summer. I currently have aprox. 185K miles on it. This is the first winter I've owned it. Being in Houston, we don't get much freezing weather. However, whenever we would get freezing weather, the air suspension would not go to ride height...

'05 Air Suspension INOP during freezing temps

Thanks for your reply. After further review, I found a helpful link to a series of videos specific to the Expy air suspension. In one of the videos, they mention the air dryer. and that they do need changing on occasion. First thing I'll do is replace the air dryer. Also noticed last...

'05 Air Suspension INOP during freezing temps

I also posted this in the suspension section, but being a 2nd gen, I thought I'd see if I can get some assistance over here. My '05 Expedition Limited has factory air suspension. I'm the second owner with 186K miles. Usually it rides awesome. This is the first winter I've owned it and...

3rd Gen Rear Bumper (cover) on 2nd Gen. Will it work?

I've been looking (and using the search feature) throughout the 2nd Gen forum for any input regarding a 3rd gen rear bumper on the 2nd gen body. I've read the 3rd gen tail lights will fit with a little modification to fit the bulb sockets. However, nothing on the bumpers themselves. Has...

Side Mirror Turn Signal and Interior lights LED upgrade

Nah, If/when I get the modulator, I'll only wire it into the center brake light. I'll leave the two lower brake lights alone as someone might think that I'm turning or have my hazards on...plus may be a legality issue in some states (whereas, some vehicles come factory with center blinking...

Side Mirror Turn Signal and Interior lights LED upgrade

I changed out the interior dome lights with LEDs... wow, what a difference! It looks better and is not as dark. I also changed out the mirror courtesy lights, which also give it a great look. While in the mirror turn signal lens, I replaced the bulbs with amber LEDs (my turn lenses are smoked...

Side Mirror Turn Signal and Interior lights LED upgrade

Another mod I'm looking at is a brake light modulator. I've used the Dyna Flash on some of my motorcycles and it's great. Three quick flashes, followed by three longer flashes, then steady...every time I hit the brakes. Most likely, I'll just wire it up to the center brake light.

Side Mirror Turn Signal and Interior lights LED upgrade

Ham, Thanks for the reminder. I was thinking about the flasher relay the other day. Since I'm just doing only the mirror units right now, I don't think it'll cause a big enough drop in resistance to significantly change the flash rate. If it does, then I'll go get a LED compatible flash...

Side Mirror Turn Signal and Interior lights LED upgrade

I recently purchased a GII (2005) Expy. The pass. side courtesy light is INOP and the turn signals are not very bright. I had originally read that the bulbs are not replaceable (which sounded crazy). After finding a write up on how to accomplish this task, I'm gonna knock it out and convert...

am I tripping, or does fog light use dent MPG??

Turning off your fog lights would cause typically cause an decrease in fuel economy because the extreme heat being emitted from the lights would create an higher density altitude. Because the air is cooler with the lights off, you'll have a lower density altitude. With the lower density...
