I too was thinking about this. The body style is similar so the swap should be, mounts and ecm etc

5.4, Electronics are all different and ECM is different, power steering is different, intercooler needed, different radiator and fans. You’d be better off swapping a 5.0 V8 or 6.2 Raptor engine. Both are at least related to the 5.4 and used on the same platform, the eco is not. Even then the 5.0 has electric steering. I’m still waiting for someone to 6.2 swap an Expedition. 411 horsepower, but like the eco would be a nightmare besides some things being closer. Would still be an electronics nightmare forever.

Probably cheaper to sell the old one and buy a used EcoBoost in good shape...

All it takes is bit of cash....go buy an expy with one.......while anything can be accomplished if one doesn't care how much effort it takes.....some things maybe shouldn't? LOL

FWIW; IMHO Even as a master mechanic, you would be asking for a world of hurt......and with a very real chance that it would never be completely resolved where every subsystem works as it should.

Good luck though....either way you decide...I'd sure be interested in watching someone do it!

You would need to basically strip a 15-17. Wiring, computers, dash, sensors, engine, trans, EPAS. It probably wouldn't be that bad if you had the parts. Juice worth the squeeze? Maybe, maybe not.

I sure wouldn't want to do it. If it were me I think I'd rather swap it with rebuilt 5.4 (maybe with a few upgrades/goodies on it).

Fast and Loud swapped a Ecoboost for a 351C in a Pantara. They amazingly, trashed a running and driving 130K F150, for the engine and wiring. They paid $10K for the truck. Aaron Kaufman, claimed a crate engine and harness was actually more. No sane person, would ever spent this kind of money. I inquired about converting my 2003 Harley to fuel injection. The dealer said is would be cheaper, just getting a newer model. The same advice applies here.
