It's the lower back seat cover for the third row. It's a spring-loaded, carpeted trim that covers the gap of the third row seats (when folded) with the trunk floor.

I was loading a portable generator, and its feet cracked this piece. Would like to replace it.

Sorted through the parts catalogue, but can't seem to locate it. https://www.oemfordpart.com/v-2018-ford-expedition--max-platinum--3-5l-v6-gas

Any help would be greatly appreciated! The vehicle is a 2018 Exp Max Platinum 4x4

You could check with the part’s department of your local Ford dealer, and using your VIN - could identify the correct part and color.

And have them send you a quote so you have the info to search elsewhere. Those panels are "value engineered" for sure!

I had the same thing happen to my 2018 XLT last year. My local Ford dealer told me that the flaps are not sold separately - they are part of the large plastic storage tray. The tray is quite expensive - $800 if I remember correctly. I repaired mine - drilled a few holes in the flap and the flange where it attaches, then used rivets to attach. It has been working well for the last year.

You can check www.car-part.com to see if any local junk/salvage yards have any '18-'21 Expeditions you could pull it from..

Absolutely - exactly the same problem for my 2020 XLT. Was kinda sad as this damage could have been avoided while loading luggage in the trunk. On the other hand its kinda a bit unexpected as such parts should have been made more sturdier to bear the brunt.

Did you find a solution or a replacement part for it.

The storage space is wide and deep once the 3rd row seats are folded, so while loading from a standing position i cannot extend my arms length beyond a certain range - to place the stuff directly on the spot where it is intended (no elastic hands like Mister Fantastic from Fantastic Four). Hence at times the stuff has to be slided or dragged in to ensure max space utilization. An episode of loading like that broke the plastic riverted trim and the spring was left dangling inside.

For info, when I had a chevy I was able to get my hands on the full software for GM LAAM catalogue where my vehicle was searchable by VIN and the detailed exploded BoM views for each part and their alternate part numbers.

Does anything similar exists for Ford vehicles (preferably offline) which can be sourced.

Thanks.

Had the same thing happen to me pretty much 5 months after I got it. Even worse my friend did it when I was helping him load a spontaneous purchase he made. Something about someone breaking your shit that makes it more annoying than breaking it yourself. I broke the little side and luckily one spring is still holding on. FYI, tried gorilla glueing the she tabs and lower strip the stays in place with the floor as the seat moves. Didn’t work.

Yeah well sticking it with glue i guess wont work to my knowledge as well. Can give it a shot.

For me one V shape spring is left however all tiny plastic tabs are broken.

Anyone found a better repair for it, or the replacement part no.

One approach I was thinking was the strip off the carpet from the plastic piece, make some tiny holes and run wires thru these to tie up the cover with the seat assembly. If it stays in place, can paste the carpet piece on top as it was.
