Getting ready to replace pads

My 2022 is at 100,000 miles. There is still some wear left in the pads, but I get a squeal from the rear brakes when rolling to a stop, mostly on cold days but noticing it even as the temperatures are warming up. What is the consensus recommendation for pads: semi-metalic, carbon fiber, or ceramic?

Ford has run the micrometer over the rotors and they are still good for now, so I don't need rotor replacements.

Your original equipment Motorcraft brake pads lasted 100,000 miles - with some wear left.

You are asking for a recommendation for brake pads. I think you answered your own question.

Perhaps, but consider the ole "they don't make 'em like they used to" thing....

I don't know what was on it previously or how old they were, since I had not changed them since I bought it in 2021 @45K, but I just had pads (& rotors) put on my '011 (also at 100k now) and I told the shop to use the Power Stop Ceramic pads & coated rotors that I bought... they said "oh cool, saves us a lot of time & effort ordering them & waiting for delivery from the local parts store"

Yea, they cost a little more up front, but now my Beast stops on a dime, and hopefully will also last 100k...:)

+1 for powerstop. My ‘22 SPP just got the powerstop pads and rotors even though my rotors had life, I upgraded to drilled & slotted to help with some towing I do and they’re great.

2019 expedition Limited Max. The rear brakes started making noise at 94k miles so I replaced them with the Powerstop pads and coated rotors.

The front pads were almost like new. There was some scoring on the front drivers side rotor so I replaced it along with the right side including pads. I did find a frozen slide pin on the front right so I'm glad I went in there.

Sounds like the Motorcrafts have served you well. Not sure I've heard of others going that far, at least not with the rear pads.

That said, have used Power Stops numerous times in the past with great results on previous rides.
