Deciding how may 6" off road lights to install

I had 4 of them up top. With a 4" rancho lift kit, I fit fine in drive thru's. I did not fit in some parking garages but I did fit in my garage. You could probably fit 5 up top if you wanted but that is about it...I put 4 because they looked even spaced...

sorry to hear about the expy bud. Sure did have some fun wheeling with you. I sold mine a couple months ago. I sure do miss her, but I was able to put a 7.5" RCX kit on my 2010 Silverado!!! Will get another expy someday and SAS it with a lightning swap...ahh, I love dreaming!

What Sets Your Expedition Apart From Others?

i guess i would have to say my blacked out theme, hidden winch mount with winch, offroad lights up top (took my cb antennas off for now), and my lift. not too many around here with a lift.

New Member - Lifting my 2000 Expy - Hunting Lease

so i might be a little late. as far as the hidden winch mount from warn, I have one. you wont be able to fit a warn 10k winch, but a warn 9.5 will fit. other brands you will be able to fit a 10k, maybe even 12k. anything from warn larger than 9.5 will require a little modification to the upper...

    00' xlt monster!!

trey, for my 01 expy, if i were to take it into a shop, it would cost me just under 400, just to change plugs. COPS are gonna run you another 200 or so in parts, so all together you can expect to pay at least 600 for a shop to change all plugs and COPS...

    Spark Plugs?

so this is the issue, i dont have enough money to change plugs, cops, and o2 sensors. the shuddering felt mostly at low rpms up until about 2k range. once i get over 2k, the "missing" doesnt seem to be as noticeable (unless at constant rpm going up steep hill, say at 2k rpm. then there is some...

    Spark Plugs?

so i am going to re-attempt to change the spark plugs this weekend. gonna have to wait to change out the COP's, unless I find one that absolutely needs it. is it advisable to use di-lectric grease on the tops of the spark plugs? also, if the top portion of the COP looks good but the rubber boot...

    Spark Plugs?

there really has been no rain here in SD so...no. hahha. It has been running like this for about a month or two now, at least that i have noticed. i attempted (with Panda) to change the plugs on it a few weekends ago, but that damn back passenger side (i believe #4) pissed me off so much that i...

    Spark Plugs?

I know there are a lot of threads out there for spark plugs, but I still have a question. When driving (while RPM's are low, 1500'ish) the truck feels like it is missing but there is no code. When I begin to climb a hill or whatever, the truck seems to miss as well until it downshifts, then you...

    wanting it bigger

they discontinued the rancho but you can still find them sometimes on ebay. i believe thermo has the same kit. i know there is a 5" out there that another member had on his expy. suspension kits get expensive though. i think a body lift would look just fine, just make sure you order the gap...

this thread reminds me, i should go double check my brakes. they are working just fine (for bigger tires anyhow) but with a long trip ahead of me through the mountains...its been 3 years on these brakes...

    what do you guys think?

they do protect against rock chips, but eventually the trap moisture and whatnot behind them, causing your doors to rust without you even knowing about it...i agree, tape and bedline yourself. bedliner will keep the moisture out.

    Pin stripe removal

same thing, i just waited for it to sit in the sun, then just started peeling. if you go slow, then you can get most of it in long strips without it ripping too much.

What to look for when buying a gen 1 expy

i will tell you what to look for when buying and expy....a different truck! hahah. I love my expy but I DO NOT love changing the spark plugs on this f-ing thing! Nor do I have the patience, so now I have to pay somebody to change them, very upset about this!

    Radiator

you shouldnt have any problems. my truck came from florida, survived while i was stationed there, survived the trip to california in the summer (going through mountains and whatnot), and has survived SoCal and desert offroad trips with no problem. i do not know if it is single or double, so i...
