Well, we took the truck into another local shop yesterday and that guy said exactly the same thing as the other shop, metal got into all the bearings and I need to replace the axel shaft as well ugh! that guy wanted to charge me $900 ugh! ugh! ugh! so, my brother in law ordered all the parts...- Dutnall

okay, I took the truck to a local guy yesterday and of course the noise is much louder now but anyway he said that one of the bearings has worn out and the metal has gotten into all the other bearings and now I may need a whole new axle shaft, but the differential is okay. He is quoting $350 to...- Dutnall

yes, it is only upon acceleration when the noise happens and only on the drivers side, it seems. I'm taking it to small local shop this afternoon for a check to see what they say because like another member said the dealers are usually more money. thank you for your help- Dutnall

thank you for the responces my brother in law said to take it to other shops too but I wasn't sure what to do on top of that the quote was for only the drivers side bearing, if they do both sides it will be $900 or more, its a mess. but yes I will try another local shop tomorrow after work...- Dutnall
