Don't lose sleep over this, I very seriously doubt the plugs will back out because anti-seize was used. BTW: I used Bosch plugs. Not sure what they are made of.- FordGate

I didn't care at all about torque. I just tightened them down. I've replaced hundreds of plugs and never torqued any of them. Useless waste of time IMO!- FordGate

2003 noise that we cant figure out
I'd say it is probably something brake related. The check engine light could mean anything so definitely check asap. You bought a vehicle at the end of its "cheap" life and you may have a serious money pit moving forward. Hopefully you didn't pay more than $2k or so for it.- FordGate

Use a long pipe as a breaker bar. Or else connect another wrench to the end of the one you are using. DON'T use a ratchet! It will break the ratchet and possibly injure you when it does! I really suggest you get an impact wrench.- FordGate

Side mirrors behaving erratically
Sounds like your mirrors got bumped and are out of sync. Happens on mine. I just manually pop the mirrors back so that they have the travel they need to reposition properly. Just put them to the end of travel with the power switch. If they pop, move it back so it has more room and try again...- FordGate

I recently swapped my air ride out for traditional shocks/springs and I suggest if you don't have one to get an impact wrench. Those bolts are in there really tight!- FordGate

Any value to air ride components?
I removed all of my air shocks and replaced with traditional shocks. One of them (front passenger) seemed to have a slow leek not sure if it was the shock or the connection. Just the air intake, the engine cover, and there is something that blocks the front driver's side plug that is easy to remove not sure what it is. You need a 7mm socket with extensions and a 7mm open end wrench to remove the COP bolts. One of the COP plugs is hard to get to without the wrench...- FordGate

I finally bit the bullet and did the plugs on the 2003 EB with 5.4. Not as bad as I thought or read. The only really bad one is the passenger side rear and that wasn't a total PITA. Hey can someone post instructions for the repair? My pedals have not worked since I got the car back in '04 (it is an '03 EB). They make a quick blip but don't move even a millimeter. I think they are as high as they go which for me sucks I usually put adjustable pedals all the way down.- FordGate

Sparkplug change on 03 5.4
Thanks I just ordered one. I was concerned about the electrode. I thought I could very carefully put in in place with the non-grommet socket but it ended up falling into the hole. I decided to just put it back together and see how it ran and it runs perfect. Next time I will use the hose...- FordGate

rear brakes
This could be normal. It burns through fronts at 3-4x the rear rates. Also start using ceramic pads - no dust!- FordGate

2003 5.4 wont start on first crank....?
It is the fuel pressure hold valve (FPS? I think?) which I think is not part of the pump. I had the same issue and that was the fix.- FordGate

Sparkplug change on 03 5.4
I just lost my 2nd COP and tore into the engine to replace this. Cylinders 1,2,3,5,6 and 7 are not that bad. The driveshaft only turns when the car is moving, whether in gear or not. Does the car have aftermarket wheels? If so, were the wheel stud clips removed? hvac blend making noise
Replace both motors. It is not hard I did both mine in around 30 minutes. Neither is hard to get to and both can be accessed via the tray (remove it). I got both on Amazon.- FordGate

Slotted Brake rotors
The specs are wrong either for the ones I got or for the ones I was comparing sizes to. The ones I got were the exact size of the ones I replaced. So 30 minutes per wheel and my brakes are perfect again.- FordGate

Slotted Brake rotors
I got the slotted and drilled rotor kit from rockauto for the front brakes on the 03 EB. The front end has a massive shake when the brakes are applied. I already greased up the caliper studs and replaced the passenger caliper with no change. Pads are great (ceramic) but I am still replacing them...- FordGate

No. If you have the "kneel" feature (air suspension lowers when car is turned off) you cannot disable the warning. I just live with it.- FordGate

I can't get rid of my message either. I don't know if I have the kneel down option or not when I turn it off it sinks down. When a door is open though it stops sinking until the door is closed again.- FordGate
