Well I don't know what to get. What do you guys have? It would be really nice to be able to link my phone to it with Bluetooth for apps like Phone, Mapquest, or WAZE that I could actually talk and see with both hands on the wheel! :D Surely there's something out there for each one????

Yes, I have two Expy's - both SSV's bought at auction. The first, a 2001 I bought from the US. Forest Service Auction in Missoula, MT for $5000 in 2005. Had a couple of small dings and 133,000 when I bought it. Still running strong at 262K miles with ZERO problems. Change the oil, change the coolant, change the tranny fluid, and she just keeps going!

Then there's my 2007 bought in 2017 with 154K miles on it that now has 173K miles on it. Happened to be on the Bidadoo.com website 3 minutes before the auction ended when the price was $4300. Bid $5000 and got it for $4400! SWEET! Have changed the driver's side window regulator 3 times! 3 TIMES! Ran it with an O2 fault after changing all four O2 sensors, but it finally went away after a couple thousand miles. Also had a "can't-get-it-out-of-park problem that YouTube was able to solve for me.

Very nice car but I hated the front bucket seats! So, went to the wrecking yard and got a matching (OK, near matching) console from an F150 ($75) and, with a little retrofit, now I'm happy! LOL! Think I made a copy of where to drill my mounting holes for the console as well so that I wouldn't hit wires. Let me know if you're thinking the same thing and I will search to see if I can find it!

I guess SSV's are weird. The fronts seats are cloth and the back seats are vinyl! Wha's up wi' dat? My dog, Sassy is my constant navigator so it's really a pain for hair-on-seat cleaning! Anybody on here ever changed seat bottoms? How much of a pain is it?

Guess that will do! have a great New Year, you guys. Thanks for all your fine tips! :)

I had a JVC KW-M650BT. You get apple CarPlay and android auto, rear view and front view camera (this model doesn’t have a disc player) sirius xm, iDatalink capability and a bunch of other stuff. I really loved it and it is capable of everything you want plus more.

I just stabbed a Pioneer into mine last night. It has bluetooth for music and calls. No navigation function though. Does have a dvd player function.

The more costly ones will do more with nicer menus and more customization. Some of the higher end units are more about navigation and the camera systems than music or radio.

They're like phones...find one that does what ya need it to. I just have a hard time paying 500, 600 bucks for a in-dash unit that will only be used to play MP3 and FLAC tracks 98% of the time.

I put a Kenwood in my 2004, a few years back. Cleaned up the sound and gave me Bluetooth (and XM Sat radio), was like a new ride lol.

It had been awhile since installing a radio in a car, so I called Crutchfield.. They used to be super expensive back in the day, but surprise, they are competitive on prices these days, and they give excellent advice. Not to mention good instructions, the whole wiring connectors, and dash fitment parts...

Might be worth checking with them.

They're police cars. Easier to clean vomit off vinyl. And the cloth is more comfortable for the drivers, who aren't expected to vomit as readily as those gems in the back seat.

Ford does have a better idea.

I've had a hard time finding cloth replacement seat covers. Vinyl and leather are available for about $150 each. They are a bit of a job to change, though not difficult. Figure a couple of hours for each and you have to take the seat out. The covers are held on with velcro and a few hog rings, so you need the tool.

Yea it was $350 on amazon when I bought it. Boss makes a $200 carplay. Or a $100 touch screen non carplay or usb capability.
