Many of us do it and get away with it BUT IT ISN'T THE CORRECT THING TO DO

Never use a test light to probe circuits on a computer controlled car. Always use a volt meter

The whole point here is NOT TO POKE HOLES IN WIRES.
It creates a place for moisture to enter into the wire
It doesn't matter what test equipment is used.

A hole is a hole and a entry point for damage to occur to the wire.

That stuff is really good. I used it to seal a relay that is under the bumper of my GN

agree with common sense But so many times people take others for what they say and if you didn't tell them to cover it up then they wont

There are many issues on this forum that would be answered by common sense if the OP used it.

I got that code on my 97 5.0 Mountaineer because the Evap hose came off the fuel tank. It also would give a fuel smell from time to time. It would stall when I blipped the throttle 1/4 way while backing up to get it moving sometimes and it would stall when I was on it kind of hard and stop hard when I didn't let it fully warm up. I didn't find out where my leak was until I changed my shocks and leaf spring shackles. Sad part is I didn't fix it then because I was exhausted and put it off which bit me on a $$ 2weeks later when my transmission started slipping. I haven't driven it away from the house since. Check for loose vacuum lines around the gas tank. It could help.

How can I do this?

On fuel rail right side front black cap unscrew will have a valve to test pressure 30-45psi when you put key in turn to run 1st click 2nd click starts car.

There is a schrader valve on the passenger side fuel rail. Harbor Freight sells a fuel pressure test kit that comes with a gauge and some hoses and fittings. Attach them there and run the gauge up to the windshield where you can see it while driving. At idle the pressure should be 28-30psi with the vacuum line attached. 38-40 psi with the line off at idle and about 40psi at wot

Update.....replaced my fuel pump and so far all is good!!!

Going back to one of your earlier posts, where you couldn't fill all the way, and the gauge being off, the part about a false reading makes sense, since the pump and fuel sending unit are one!
