Hello all, I hate starting a new thread on lift/tires , but here goes.

I am going to add daystar rear 1 3/4 specers to the rear of our beast, then level with torsion twist . As is the tires look slightly small for it, 275/65/17. And we'd like to go a little larger, but not big enough we are going to harshly affect power, mileage, or towing. what would be a recommended upgrade for size? maybe a little wider?

I went with a set of 285/70/17's, which are 33's. Power is still good, I do slightly notice it though. Towing doesn't seem to have been effected too much, I towed a '65 Dodge D200 Long Bed pickup with a heavy fiberglass canopy on a Uhaul totaling about 6500lbs and had 0 issues with power. I was quite impressed with going up a 10 mile 4% grade, I pulled 55-60mph at 3500ish rpm in 2nd with a little bit of pedal to spare.

I too have 2" spacers in the rear with a torsion twist btw....

Kind of depends on the gears. Bigger tires are always going to slow it down since there is more weight to rotate. If you have 3.73 gears, that is ideal, won't notice it too much. 3.55's will be a more noticeable decrease in acceleration, since they are going to be a slower acceleration gear already. My vote is also on 33's (typically 285/70/17 or 285/75/16). I have not had a problem towing with these tires, and the only real difference aside from a slight decrease in acceleration, is that the speedo is 2-3mph slow at highway speeds.

Thanks for the quick replies! 33's sound perfect. I'll go with those. no trimming anything right? I got my wheels, I ordered them but they were out of black , so I got these with the plan to paint, or plasticoat:: 20130923_120444_zps9be6725c.jpg

I like them as they are! The aluminum brings out the silver pinstripe and the aftermarket lights.
Yeah, leave the rims alone, they look pretty sweet!

I agree they look sweet as is. You will have to trim the front lower valance a little I am sure. I cut like 3" off with a hack saw. Other than that there should be no issues.
