My airbag light went on the other day.

It only does it when my wife drives it. I came on, then blinked in some type of pattern then stayed on.

We stopped for something, I then drove and it hasn't happened since. Wife said that it had done it before. It never has happened to me when I drive.

Before I take it in and have the service guy tell me they couldn't find anything wrong I wanted to find out if the computer "keeps records" of it like it does with emissions stuff. :)

Most all OBD2 computers will store codes unless there is a loss of power for like 10min. So as long as you did not disconnect the batt, the code should be stored.

I think the OBDII only stores emmisions stuff. I looked at the OBDII codes for my '98, and it does not reference air bag stuff.

In my '98 there is something called the "AIR BAG DIAGNOSTICS MODULE", so I think that light is run from a seperate system.

Our Expedition's airbag light went on last summer (and stayed on until re-start of the engine) every time we passed Cheney's house north of Jackson, WY.

Cowboy Motors in Jackson said that several Expeditions had experienced the "phenomenon" in the same area and it was apparently the protecive radar.......

Does Cheney have a home near you? :)
