06 Expy floor gets hot ...

I have noticed that the floor gets hot on both short and long trips. The affected spot is between first and second row at the passenger side. I may also imagine it would extend to behind the second row.

Also, I noticed that the right rear trim panel also gets hot.

Anybody else had this before? What was a possible solution?

Note: A/C was on, 2wd mode activated.

Rear trim? Exhaust tip? Floor is cat or mufflers maybe. You could install heat shields.

is the exhaust in the stock configuration? It sounds like exhaust heat is finding its way to the floorboard of the truck...

Yes it is stock configuration. Do not know the reason so far.

By rear trim, I meant the area that is on top of the rear right wheel. So, my guess is that it is the exhaust, but why? and would Ford answer back saying the truck is designed this way?

As a first time Ford owner, I always get "impressed" by something !
