crawled under our (read: the wife's) 07 to change out the fuel filter since I have noticed the fuel mileage dropping and lack of acceleration. until now, I have only had it done on this particular truck in a shop while getting other work done. I was prepared for the dreaded blue clip and had already researched and found the instructions for it. to my surprise, we don't have a blue clip. we have 1 black & 1 white on the tank side & the metal spring type on the engine side. the black & white ones were very brittle and both broke. after 2 trips to our local parts store I had the correct replacements. since the wix filter I bought did ot include replacement clips. I failed to originally notice that the black & white clips come in 2 different sizes, both marked as being for Ford. the ones with the triangle shaped head are thicker & do not fit our expy. the clips that I successfully used are labeled as "needa" brand at advance. I got them in a set of 6, 3 of each color so hopefully they'll all be around the next time I change this filter.
