1. Where is the ambient air temperature sensor?

Sometimes the temp display goes all the way down to -13 or whatever, with a corresponding failure of the AC to operate properly. Gonna try a new sensor.

2. Are there any holes under the AdvanceTrac/RSC badge on the lift gate?

Keep in mind there is a chance I could be wrong but I swear I’ve read it’s pinned in before. Seems every badge on mine is pinned through. I thought about removing my front door emblems when they faded but resorted to filling them in with a sharpie marker when I found out they were permanently fixed. Seems the early 3rd gen had more badges as well as being pinned through.

I'll have to look at the badges I removed but I believe there are holes behind the expedition emblem but not the advancetrac. I added the 15-17 chrome trim to mine and didn't have to patch anything. Pretty sure the pin on the expedition lined up with the new trim pin and nothing behind AdvanceTrac. I'll find my emblems tomorrow to check back in

My 08 has no holes under the advance trac tailgate badge. The Expedition XLT badges on the tailgate and doors have two holes each.

Nice, is the advance trac one just double sided tape adhesive? I’d ditch mine......but almost too scared it will pull paint with it....

True. Everyone knows the paint on the lift gate is sketchy at best lol. Could try the fishing line trick...

So how about question 1: anyone have any experiences they'd like to share?

Gixer, how did you applied 15-17 chrome trim to your 07?, Do you have to drill?

Yes I had to drill 6 holes all the way across. I also had to build my own harness for the license plate lights and Glass release button because the newer style harness doesn't fit the earlier models inside the tailgate. The harness really wasn't a big deal and took me a total of 20 minutes with soldering and Shrink tube.

Gix... That trim piece isn't in Tasca's parts book. Did it come with the switch and light or did the old ones fit in the new trim? Or did you order them separately with the new trim?

I'm sure I still have the part number at home but I'll need to look. The part oem is like $450 but I found the moulding itself on eBay from a guy that was local. Only cost me $100 to my door.

The stock 07 button fit but the bulb sockets were different so they needed to be changed. Thats the other reason I needed to mod the harness, bulb sockets and harness molex need to be swapped.

When my wife first got her Mazda I removed the dealer's badge with Goo Gone and dental floss without any issues. However, even though the vehicle was brand new, the paint was a a little darker under the badge (likely from sitting out in the NC sun on their lot all summer). Eventually it all evened out and you coudln't tell there was ever a badge there. With an older vehicle though, I imagine the difference would be significant and visible forever without some manual intervention.

LOL, your thread has been hijacked.
Sensor is on the radiator core support panel. Passenger side. Somewhere behind headlight and ahead of the battery. You might be able to best access it with the grille removed, not sure.

They are about $20-$25 new. Common Ford part, used in a variety of vehicles - not exclusive to the Expedition.

AE5Z-12A647-A is its part number.

Edit: Can't get a photo to link here for some reason. Google image the part number and you should find a few examples of what she looks like.
