120V AC outlet won't charge laptop

To shed some light on the mystery on some of you why your laptop charger won't work (including your MacBook charger). Someone on a Jeep forum brought up a good point, apparently Jeeps have the same issue. On my MacBook charger (85W), it says 100-240v 1.5A. So if you have a slightly larger Macbook, it is definitely overloading the built in inverter in the vehicle as 110v 1.5A = 160W, 115v 1.5A = 172.5W, 120v 1.5A = 170W... I was definitely surprised at how inefficient Apple is making their chargers. Ford really need to put a 400W or higher inverter in these vehicles (and Jeep needs to do the same apparently).

I can't believe vehicle manufacturers are wasting copper on something that no one is going to use because it can't be used for any modern day electronics.
