Whatsup Guys! Ok heres what I got I thought maybe someone can help me out here. This past week replaced the engine in my Expedition with a nice reman engine. Installed engine no prob! Now when going to install my transmission Fly wheel & converter stud holes match and everything lines put but when I fully install tighten all bolts (meaning Bell Housing completly attached engine to trans) I cant turn the crank manually. But when the transmission is disconnected the engine turns just fine. Now I removed and installed this transmission 3 times and the same thing is there something im missing here?

Your torque converter isnt all the way in the trans. Turn the converter by hand pushing in with slight pressure until it drops in a little further. You may want to hold up on the pilot hub slightly too. It should about an inch from the bellhousing front surface to the converter stud pads.
Hope you didnt damage the pump already. Its easily done.

I think I would just go for it and hope for the best. You could remove the converter and look at the outside of the pump, also try turning the shaft. It should turn smoothly with resistance.

Yep...you probably notice the flat spots on the end of the shaft on the converter. It is indexed or keyed to turn the transmission pump. You can hope for the best but its likely damaged the pump if the bell housing was bolted tight to block.

It's kind of a "transmission 101" kind of issue. Every car show on tv always says to make sure that the converter is completely seated before installing the trans.

I agree with the above, get the pump replaced so that you don't tear up anything else by "giving it a shot".

By the way, you'll find that trans shop prices are much cheaper when you carry in the trans. You may just want to have them do a rebuild on it.
