hey guys, me and my wife are at a stalemate heres the deal.
we want to lift our 97 expy and cant agree on the set up. i want to do a 6" full suspension and 35x12.5r20s she agrees with the wheels and tires but thinks 6" will be too tall for her so she wants to only use 2.5" keys and 2" spacers but she still wants 35"s and i have advised her to the rubbing issues and necessary trimming to make them fit so if we did the 2.5/2" we would only get 33x12.5r20s. and she doesnt want to compromise and neither do i lol
what i want to know is if anyone who is running a 5-6" with 35"s could measure the height of their running boards (factory lighted ones preferably) front and back so we can see if thats something she wil deal with it for a while because next year sometime she is getting a brand new Expy Limited and the 97 will be mine solely.

Why not wait until she gets the new one and then you're free to do whatever lift height you want.
I wanted to pull my running boards and mama said no. If mama ain't happy, no one's happy. What's 1 more winter on the 97 the way it is?

Kevo, could always pick up my Expy as it is for sale and then you can have all the suspension mods done for you along with the new gears too. LMAO.

dont forget that 35s add 2" of lift over the stock 31s. I have 35s on 3" Body Lift with 2" front suspension lift and 1" of susp. in the back

so i pretty much have a 5/4" lift and my running boards sit 20" off the ground

My wife is 5'4" and no problems here either. I run 3 inch Body Lift, and 2 inch spacers with 35's.

I've got 3"body lift and 2" spacers and Keys and 35X12.5X20 no rubbing and it's 21" to the top of the stock running board.
