I have a 00 expedition with a 5.4. Its got 155,000 miles, I have replaced the fuel pump, relay, filter, plugs, injectors, and crank position sensor. Im thinking it may be the fpr. It does have good fuel pressure. It start when I force feed it gas through intake. I have checked the kick panel switch. Am I missing something? Engine turns over as if its not getting fuel.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is the theft light blinking real fast when you try to start it? if it is then it has to go to the stealership for repair. I just had the samething happen to mine. It cost $200 for a $15 part

Yeah that sounds like an issue with the PATS security system. When the system does not see the " chip " in the key, it will shut off the fuel injectors so the vehicle will turn over but not start, unless you are " feeding " it fuel thru the throttle body.

Is there a way to bypass this system permenantly? My wife just had that happen to her when she tried to go to the store with it. It just cranked and cranked, but not start, and yes the theft light was blinking.

The only way to have the system permantly disabled would be to have some one " create a custom tune " for the computer. When they get in they can " Turn Off " the PATS Security system.

Or you can get this and do it yourself:

http://www.deltaforcetuning.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=SP-5000&Show=ExtInfo

With this you can also create your own " custom " perfomance tune by just awnsering yes and no questions thru there guided software.

Beware that if you do this, it makes it very simple for someone to steal your truck.

All they would have to do is make a key that will turn the ignition and the truck is gone. The PATS system even thou it can be a PITA is actually a very good system to prevent theft.
