hey guys, had the ears on the differential yoke break due to rust and my one piece driveshaft fell out. thank goodness it was at low speed. so i haven't been able to find it online unless i'm not looking right. don't want to pay too much money for it. any suggestions?

2001 5.4L 4x4 XLT. i've only seen 2 piece for sale online.

So I got an exact replacement from RockAuto. Now when I was under there, I just noticed that the differential is not vertical !!!! I've replaced the cover before, but cannot remember if this is normal !?!??! I'm thinking it isn't, but I do not see any cracks or twisted metal. Can someone confirm this for me? Is my diff toast?

thanks in advance.

hey big red, thanks for the offer to help. here are some pictures. it seems like the nose of the diff is tilted upwards. HOWEVER, it goes fine at very very low speeds like 1-2 mph lol, and reverse. so i guess the angle is ok. but if i gas it and the rpm goes up, there's a violent shudder and clunk. i think when the driveshaft fell out, it really did some damage.

My XLT is like this, sleight upswing to the differential.

The anti sway bar and whatever frame part that is there are not touching, and are about 3/4" away from the Differential cover.

I had no idea what you were describing without the pics.

Did you replace Ujoints? Could be a calamity of errors...

the driveshaft i got from rockauto had the u-joints already in place in the yoke plate, very convenient. but i just noticed that my passenger trailing arm rusted through and broke, so i'll replace those and see how she does.
