Hello All,
I just purchased a 2001 Lincoln Navigator with the Premium Alpine sound. From the research I have done I gather that it is basically the same set up as the EB's with a Mach system.
The factory sub wasn't working when I purchased it so I decided to just replace the entire audio system (It is 13 years old after all) I put a new head unit in (DEHX6600BS) (14 watts RMS) which made the speakers sound bad. Put new speakers in (TS-A6885R) (60 watts RMS), and its better, but it still is distorted when I crank it up. Is there a factory speaker amp on these? Or was it integrated in the factory head unit? When I adjust the high pass filter I can get it sounding clean.
So where do I go from here???
1) Use an amp I already have and buy a new 8" sub and just use the HPF to clean it up?
2) Spend a few hundred on a 5 channel amp and power all the speakers and a new sub?
Thanks
